Sound Help/Mic Help

hey guys im looking for a little bit of help.

i reinstalled windows 7 on my computer and ever since then when i join americas army my mic mutes and i have to tab out and go to my creative console and uncheck it and when i change my settings back to where they were the sound gets all messed up in game and half the time it sounds like im shooting in a tunnel


also since the reinstall my mic is barely loud and i have gone to recording devices and turned the volume up

there is also 2 mics under recording devices can anyone tell me what one i am supposed to use?

any help would be awesome and thank you!

i am not realy sure of understanding you correct, but it sound like you config is always reseted, right?
if so, you can do that:
- open by clicking with right mouse at sound symbol at taskbar
- select communication
- select "nothing to do" (the last one, dont know how it is written in english)

Go to Control Panel > Sounds and see if your devices are installed and recognized.

my sound is recognized as x-fi an i have already selected do nothing in communication.

i have also disabled my other sound drivers for onboard i belive in the device manager but i still have 2 mics that show up under recording devices and i still cant figure out how to make aa not mute my mic everytime i open it!!

its got to be something simple im missing, it did it when i first built my computer and i got it worked out and now a year later when i reinstalled windows im having an issue again
