A few things you can do:
-The download server could be done. Wait and try again later.
-Make sure Assist is allowed to access the internet through the firewall/antivirus.
-Sometimes restarting the computer works.
-Turn your router off, then turn it on.

These are just simple suggestions. Come back if it still doesn't work. Usually this problem doesn't happen a lot.

There might be a faulty package partially downloaded in your Assist file location, I would say delete that and then do what Blue said.

The game is located in /Documents and Settings/User/Application Data/25Assist/

Check if there is a file named something like mAAp712.7z. You can try to decompress it yourself into the armyops folder.

If you make a mistake, it's okay because you can delete the whole folder and download everything again.

I would say hard drive failure then. AASM has nothing to do with maps, it's the old program that allows you to host a server. Absolutely un-necessary program and has nothing to do with mAAp or Assist. I would guess that it installed over the corrupted parts of your hard drive which allowed you to extract mAAp on a healthy part of your hard drive.

You should grab HDTune and run a full error scan. ANY red spots and you better backup your data and get a new hard drive immediately.
