Dear Moderator/Admin Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to respectfully request a reconsideration of my account ban. I fully acknowledge the actions that led to my ban and take responsibility for any rules I may have violated. However, I would like to provide further context surrounding the situation in hopes of offering a clearer understanding.

The incident that resulted in my ban took place in a game where I was repeatedly provoked by another player. This individual engaged in trolling behavior, constantly accusing me of being a "noob hacker," "cheater," and "camper," all of which were false and made the game environment hostile. Additionally, they falsely claimed to be a member of the armed services, which further escalated tensions. While I regret responding in a way that violated the community guidelines, I was reacting to ongoing provocations by a player with a fraudulent account.

Unfortunately, this type of toxic behavior isn't isolated. On numerous occasions, I have encountered players who use racial and sexual references both in the in-game chatbox and during gameplay, which creates an uncomfortable and hostile environment. Despite reporting these incidents, I feel that I have been subjected to unjust treatment, as the focus has been solely on my actions, while those responsible for the initial provocations and offensive language have faced no consequences.

I want to emphasize that I understand my own behavior should have remained within the boundaries of the game’s code of conduct, regardless of the provocations I experienced. I deeply regret allowing the situation to escalate and am committed to improving my in-game behavior moving forward. I truly enjoy being a part of this community and would like the opportunity to continue participating while adhering to the rules and maintaining a positive gaming environment.

I sincerely hope you will consider lifting or reducing the duration of my ban, and I am open to any further steps you believe are necessary to demonstrate my commitment to fair play and respect within the community.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

You seem to only be referencing your initial 1 week ban for using a racial slur. Your permanent ban was for doxxing another player by using their real name as your in-game name. You also did this while circumventing your 1 week ban.
That's a pretty big series of dumb mistakes.

We can only punish for offense we're aware of. You claim to have reported these incidents, but to who? All I ever saw was a single screenshot and the player was warned.

You also told me you could just circumvent this ban, but I guess that hasn't really worked out.

I'm curious what others have to say about it.

To continue my appeal; I am writing to appeal my recent ban for doxing, as I believe this decision may stem from a misunderstanding regarding the nature of the information I shared.

Public Information: The information in question, including a full name, was posted in a public space and is readily accessible. It was not shared in a private context, nor was it protected by privacy rights.

Intent: My intention was not to harm or intimidate anyone. I shared this information as part of a discussion within the community, and it was not directed at any individual or meant to invade anyone's privacy.

Context Matters: Doxing typically involves the unauthorized sharing of personal information with malicious intent. In my case, there was no intent to cause distress, and the information was already publicly available.

Concerns About Bias: I also feel compelled to express my concern regarding a perceived bias in the administration’s handling of this situation. It seems that a neutral stance is not being upheld, which undermines the fairness of the community guidelines.

I respectfully request a review of my case and the decisions leading to my ban. Thank you for considering my appeal, and I hope to resolve this matter swiftly.

Here is my response to you, to address some concerns regarding my recent ban and the perceived bias in your handling of the situation.

Perceived Bias: It appears that the player in question is considered a "valued member" of the community, which raises concerns about fairness in enforcement. My contributions over the last six months have significantly boosted player engagement, yet this seems to be overlooked in favor of someone who has not demonstrated the same level of commitment.

Questionable Claims: The assertion that the other player is an armed service member lacks substantiation, as there are numerous indications—both in-game and online—that contradict this claim. Misrepresentation of such credentials undermines the integrity of our community.

Public Information: As previously mentioned, the name I used is publicly available. Context matters, and using it in a game setting does not equate to doxing or harassment.

Desire for Fairness: I believe every member, regardless of their perceived status, should be held to the same standards. A fair review of my case would take into account my contributions and the inconsistencies in how rules are enforced.

I hope we can engage in a constructive dialogue about this matter and work toward a more equitable environment for all players; in an environment where supposedly an armed services member is being 'trolled' makes you wonder if they are truly a true representation of an armed service member or if they are a fraud.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for your appeal. The staff team has taken some time to evaluate your appeal and has reached a decision.

Unfortunately, we feel like your appeal - to a large part - attempts to a) deflect attention from your documented actions; and b) create justifications for said actions. It does not seem to adequately convey an understanding of these actions.

As such we are unable to accept your appeal at this time.

We understand that your actions were not done in a vacuum. But the actions of others were not the reason for your ban. Your actions were. If you believe someone has acted egregiously against our terms of service, please point it out to us with some evidence to back up your claims and we will be able to weigh said evidence separely.

Our duty here is for the wider community. We would love for everyone to act like mature adults and for us to not have to interfere in the game unless there's cheating involved. However, when the actions of an individual affect a large portion of the community in a severely negative way and produce an unwelcome environment, we are forced to step in.

So TLDR:
Your appeal was denied.
