If you're that paranoid, just unplug your computer. Google Chrome warns you about suspicious websites, any basic free anti-virus/anti-malware program will catch most stuff. Not to mention Windows UAC will pause any installation and ask you for permission...

I dunno why people like vacations. I can see if you don't like where you live that you'd want to get away as much as possible. Then thinking about nation-wide holidays like Christmas and 4th of July where everybody rushes and run around like rats in a spinny-wheel. It's all nonsense to me. I enjoy where I live and can do pretty much what I want so every day is like a vacation.
It's like shaving your pubes to make your junk look bigger.
Might look bigger, but it aint.....

Ah, I always forget about family. That's pretty much the only legit reason for a vacation.

I feel ya, quite the same for me. Had to catch a job opportunity far from my home place and aside of being a good chance to live on my own, i miss my family sometimes.

Living in Michigan I don't get to see anything close to a beach. I don't see how wanting a change of scenery for a little bit is nonsensical. Not that I ever actually go on vacations (can't afford it), I just easily see why people enjoy them.

If you like beaches more than run-down neighborhoods then you might want to save the $$ you're spending on vacation and do what you can to move. Don't settle for a residence you don't like just because work is nearby. Life isn't about work, it's about enjoyment.

Wanting a change of scenery implies you're tired of what's around you. That's no way to live.

That's bullshit and you know it. Just because I want to change things up for a bit doesn't mean I hate what I'm doing now. You can get bored doing the same stuff over and over for so long and that is inevitable unless you live in some magical land where you can do everything ever. I like where I live, but it just doesn't compare to Florida, or Europe, Asia, or wherever. It's not better, just different. No one place is going to give you all of the experiences there are and to say that people shouldn't experiences those vastly different areas for a bit is ridiculous. Moving to each one of these different locations is impractical if not impossible. That is where vacations come in. You can experience the different cultures and climates without having to permanently move there or having the money to do so.
