Assist update causing problems
« on: Sunday, July 14, 2013, 02:32:26 AM »
1st of all, thanks for the updates.  But - you should at least post what you are updating so we're all not scratching our heads wondering why the servers have to be reset and why we get kicked out of Assist.  (update:  I see now that it's posted at the end of the 7.3 thread.  But probably should find a way to show up on the main page or make a new post)
Also, getting an irritating error from Assist as below.  I had 'ONRELEASE' in there probably from the days of 2.8.  Aliases[25]=(Command="ShowScores|OnRelease ShowScores",Alias="ScoreToggle") was also in there, but never showed detected.  When Assist updated, I was getting this error preventing me from joining a server.  I searched for ALL my user.ini files and removed all references to 'ONRELEASE', but this error still persists (and yes, I am admin, and yes, all hidden folders are displayed).  Furthermore, you can only get out of this error in windows by task manager.

I think your issue lies in copying stuff from 2.8 :)

Reset + Repair should fix you up.

Reset + Repair worked.  Had to go back and reconfigure my user.ini again with all my backed up keybindings (yeah, I have keybindings beyond regular controls, such thinks like 'GreyStar=CommoRadio | commosendmessage 21') minus the alias crap, reset the mouse settings, ect.  Not sure why deleting 'ONRELEASE' out of it before didn't take.

Having problems with the new update also. But for me it kicks me saying that 'armyops.exe is running but it is not running from the 2.5Assist installation, for security reasons this cannot be allowed'.
I tried the reset+repair but no help.

I am the only user on the PC, and yes I am the administrator.

I deleted the armyops.log but the issue is still there. Also states that Assist now has no writing permissions...

By the way, on launch the programme changes my screen colour settings... I don't want that to happen!

Ok, I reinstalled Assist and now everything is fine, bar the fact that when America's Army starts the Windows appearance setting changes... which is a bit irritating.
