ESCORT

Situation

United Nations has requested inspection of three critical areas to ensure no war crime violations occurring in operations area. Insurgent forces may employ deadly force to prevent discovery of multiple war crime violations.

Mission

Squad will inspect points Alpha (grid WC951165), Bravo (grid WC940158), and Charlie (grid WC937150), and return to AA Eagle NLT 301620LAUG03. In order to ensure compliance with recent UN resolution.

Enemy

Enemy force consists of a small insurgent force familiar with the local terrain and is fully aware of the three inspection points. Expect enemy ambush both along route and/or at inspection points.

Troops

One infantry squad of the 4th/75th.

Terrain

Mountainous terrain with sparse vegetation. Dry riverbeds and hills provide compartmentalized terrain which affords enemy with multiple short surprise engagement areas. Inspection points are located in danger areas (open spaces with minimal concealment).


AMBUSH

Situation

Insurgents in area are relocating headquarters due to our successful support of host nation forces. Intelligence reports a small infantry squad will perform reconnaissance of sites Alpha (grid WC951165), Bravo (grid WC940158), and Charlie (grid WC937150).

Mission

Squad will ambush insurgent forces and prevent them from reaching the three grid points.

Enemy

Enemy force consists of a small insurgent force familiar with the local terrain and is fully aware of US counter-insurgency operations.

Troops

One infantry squad of the 4th/75th.

Terrain

Mountainous terrain with sparse vegetation. Dry Riverbeds and hills provide compartmentalized terrain which affords squad with multiple ambush positions, including overwatch of enemy reconnaissance sites.
