You woulda been better off getting a single 1080Ti than SLIing 1080s. The performance gain of having two 1080s isn't that great and then you have the added headache of worrying about SLI support in games.

You also might be interested in this if you like the tempered glass cases: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139087&cm_re=corsair_crystal_570x-_-11-139-087-_-Product

Also, I will always recommend an external DAC over a sound card.

A bit unrelated, but are they really selling fullsize motherboards with only 2 ram slots now? Odd.

My mobo won't fit in that case. It's an E-ATX mobo (12.0" x 10.7"). So I'm kinda limited on cases. I mainly bought it due to the DIMM.2 feature it has. It's got other great features, but that's the one I like the most.

And as far as DAC and sound cards go, I'm not too knowledgeable in the area. Care to elaborate and maybe recommend what I should go with over a sound card. I do plan on getting studio grade headphones and a standalone mic down the road.

And as far as the 1080 goes, I bought it like 5 days before the ti was announced. I was SUPERRRRRRR fucking pissed. But now I'm stuck with it.

Ah I didn't notice that. Gotta get a full tower. That case you posted does look good though.

The 2 main reasons for suggesting a DAC is because sound cards are typically "gamer" type of products. They're all flash and very little substance (like gaming headsets). An external DAC is typically geared towards audiophiles more and focuses more on the sound. Also, A PC has a lot of electrical noise that may interfere with the analog signal after the card converts it from digital. This might not always be noticeable since these cards tend to have some sort of shielding but nothing perfect. Also, if you plan to use the front audio ports you're running an unshielded wire across your entire case.
Since an external DAC is getting the digital signal and converting it outside of the case it's much less of an issue.

Ah, that makes sense. The 1080 is a beast of a card though and if you don't have a 4k monitor there's very little use in getting another one to SLI. I'd wait until you can't max everything you want to and then there will be better single cards on the market.

4k = 60hz. So nah. I don't want one. Although: http://www.pcgamer.com/asus-and-acer-delay-feature-rich-4k-144hz-monitors-with-hdr-until-2018/

Maybe I'll get one in a couple years when the price comes down.

And as far as an external DAC goes, what would you recommend I go with.

I don't really have any recommendations. I got mine a long time ago and it was a relatively cheap one ($70). I'd just do some research, maybe ask on a sound forum or something.

Alright will do. Thank's for the input tho.

On a sidenote, I've had a bunch of people tell me to go with 32gb of ram instead of the 16gb I've already bought. I really don't see the need for 32gb since all I do is game.

Spanky's take on DAC's and such (with a link) from a few years back:

Not sure how relevant it would be today, but can't be totally off, he's a bright guy :)

Wow, why do you need one if you don't mind me asking?

You never know. It would be nice just to have one handy just in case. And it's only $30 bucks.

You can overclock ddr4 2133/2400MHz~ to 3MHz/3,200MHz. 3MHz memory is only worth where CPU is bottlenecking(like 1080p), not much difference in 4k.
Get a BlueRay driver instead of DVD driver. If you want a normal HD get: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822179010&cm_re=st1000dm010-_-22-179-010-_-Product

Na, 32GB of ram is way overkill for gaming.

As for the CD drive, you never know when you might need one. I have a lot of older games on disc I like to play. Plus it's an external drive so you don't have to have it hooked up all the time.

Alright. So a buddy of mine is gonna buy my 1080 off of me, so I'm gonna pick up a 1080ti instead. Here's an updated list on what I'm pretty much gonna go with:
