Quick question. If you wanted to become a tradesmen in America, i.e. a plumber or electrician, how do you go about doing that?

There are numerous ways to do it. I don't really know the specifics for those careers, but there are multiple way to into almost every career.

To become a plumber all you need are loose fitting pants and a big wrench.

Apprenticeship. That and vocational schools. I think that's how it's done.

if u cant stick a little pipe into a big pipe then stay the fuck away from trades

but then if they ask for your license, you're fucked.

Also, this is the major I'm looking at. It's definitely not final yet.

Nobody has ever asked me if I'm certified, have a license or what kind of college courses I've taken. They just want their shit fixed.

Well, if you are a plumber and somehow screw up, you know that they are going to be checking your qualifications. For plumbing, you have to know all of the building codes and what not. Plus, I don't think it takes that much tiem to get certified, it would most likely be worth it.

I mean, if you do a great job every time, it probably wouldn't matter. but in that rare case that something bad happens, you would be screwed.

replacing parts for people is easy, all the works done for u, and its all put it to code when the house was built, u take broken item, buy new item, put in where old item was

charge $30 per hour $50 callout fee and charge then for the replacement part + 15%

ahh, I see what you are talking about now. I was thinking more along the lines of the plumbers that install the entire plumbing while building a house. That is not an easy job.

That's what happens when you have a business without limited liability coverage. I do have a form that I have yet to enforce that basically says that I can't be responsible for data loss and you understand that by signing it. I really should but for repeat customers and friendly small town people, I just don't see the need yet.
