« on: Saturday, October 24, 2015, 19:18:35 PM »
Not sure who's the computer geek around here, i got some free shit couple days ago, problem I'm having is all 64 gb not showing up in bios, updated bios to newest version
I tested each stick of ram 1 slot at a time, so i know the ram is good

Another problem default 1333mghz, when going to bios and changing it to 1866mghz. doesn't boot up

Intel I7 4820 cpu O/C @ 5.0Ghz
Even tried rolling back cpu to default at 3.70Ghz

Mother Board   ASUS ROG RAMPAGE IV BLACK EDITION LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Extended ATX Intel Gaming Motherboard

NEW RAM CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (8 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model CMZ64GX3M8A1866C9

64GB? WTF? Why? Even free that's just ridiculous.
This is difficult to research since your parts are so ridiculously expensive and unnecessary that not many people have posted problems about them.

If you tried all the sticks in the same slot maybe one of the ram slots isn't working properly? Or it could be something as little as you don't have the stick pushed in all the way.

As for the speed, some BIOS have settings to enable faster ram. I wouldn't worry too much about ram speed as it means basically nothing when it comes to gaming. We're talking a couple FPS difference between 1333 and 1866.
However, the PC not booting could also be another sign of a faulty motherboard. Maybe try to flash a new bios to it again?
I'm not sure what else I can tell you. I've never actually seen or even dealt with a PC with so much memory as it's mostly a waste.

Can your motherboard even handle that much of RAM? ( I might find that info from your urls but Im lazy ). Are your all sticks similar, running on same mghz level?

Maximum Memory Supported  128GB

when i change it from 1333mghz to 1600mghz boots up fine, any higher won't boot up, even though ram is 1866mghz
weird shit going on

I have no need for 32gb of ram. It's a great discount, but having a ton of extra ram I can't possibly use isn't worth $100 to me.
