Title: Failed installation
Post by: GrzesiX on Friday, March 06, 2015, 21:05:18 PM
Hello. I have downloaded AAO25 from sourceforge (link from top menu of this site).
While I'm trying to install game, there is a statement on my screen: Installation Failed at step 1, Please check your internet connection then click download to resume the Download. I hope, i don't have to explain there is not any problem with my Internet... Hmmm, how to solve this?

try to unpack with 7zip: http://www.7-zip.org/ (http://www.7-zip.org/)

http://www.7-zip.org/a/7z920.exe (http://www.7-zip.org/a/7z920.exe)

It might have been the way I compressed it. Definitely get rid of WinRAR and use 7-Zip, even if it doesn't fix the issue.

OK, 7-zip has solved my problem, and i extracted files without problems.

Now, while i trying to join to the server:

I always run as a admin

and now during verifying files there is a notification:
Failed the download 3 times, please try again

Wait for the next version of Assist that will include the ability to chose an alternate download location.

My best tip would be to move the content from Program files to the desktop, where there is no issues with permission... Still use run as admin the first time to allow PB to install fully.

I did everything once again, extracted Assist817.7z using 7-Zip on DESKTOP, ran 25Assist.exe as Admin and during veryifing: Failed the download 3 times, please try again
so i have downloaded AntiPoke file and extracted archive to 25Assist/armyops/System, the same: Failed the download 3 times, please try again

Nothing works! :(

Be patient for the upcoming update, it will make a lot of things much nicer. ELiZ is working hard on fixing some issues that have been around a while.

Did you try downloading the new version straight off instead of updating?

I downloaded new version from:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/aa25assist/files/Binaries/25Assist.zip/download (http://sourceforge.net/projects/aa25assist/files/Binaries/25Assist.zip/download)
And ran this:
I'm adding, that i was trying to press: Restart and i saw the same statement.
I don't have any files Assist25, i removed everything before installation, even from %appdata%

In the Assist settings, change your download location to AAO25.com.

You may have to delete the Assist config file to do this.

Sounds like you missed the Libs folder, if you move 25Assist.exe, make sure to move "25Assist Libs"
