Title: Best Way to Run an America’s Army Server Today?
Post by: HH-ENGEL on Sunday, November 16, 2025, 00:30:15 AM
Hello AXA community!

I’m very happy to be able to play America’s Army again after so many years — this game had a huge impact on my life, and I’m truly grateful for all the effort the community puts into keeping it alive.

I would like to contribute by hosting a server here in Brazil, so players in the region can enjoy a better gameplay experience. However, while reviewing the available materials, I couldn’t find a complete guide or tutorial on how to install and configure a server in my own data center.

So, I would like to ask for your help with a few questions:

1️⃣ Is there any place where I can download the original Linux server installation files?
2️⃣ What is the recommended way to set up and run an America’s Army server today?
3️⃣ Is anyone from the community available and willing to guide me through this process?

Thank you in advance for your time, support, and for keeping America’s Army alive.

Hey!

I'm hosting a couple of servers on a VPS running CentOS. You can find a short guide to setup a Linux dedicated server here: https://aao25.com/wiki/index.php?title=Dedicated_server

The first link (installation package) appears to be outdated. Both packages you'll need can be found below:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/distrobuild/files/sources/armyops250-linux.run/download
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/aa25assist/Binaries/ldedisrv.zip

You'll have to install any required dependencies (in my case glibc.i686 and libstdc++.i686) as well as ensure the correct ports are open.

There's many threads regarding server setup and configuration all about the forums if you search, but I'm sure you can also reply back with any specific questions or hop in our Discord and another member of the community may be willing to help you out!

Hi everyone!
@HellBOY Thanks for your time!

I'm making good progress with the server setup.
I'm using Ubuntu on a VPS with Proxmox.
Once it's finished, I'm willing to write an updated step-by-step documentation and make it available here.

Hooah
