When I try to run a dedicated server, it fails instantly with the following message:
Invalid or unrecognised map filename
USAGE: server.exe GLOBAL insurgent_camp
That's not the map in my command line. I can't find anywhere that would be pointing to this map. Any ideas?
-
I think it should be:
Insurgent_Camp.aao
-
LOL Read it again please.
-
Have you checked aa25srv.ini ?
-
Yes. I can't find a single reference to Insurgent Camp anywhere. It doesn't matter which map I try to load in the command line, I get that same error.
-
In what folder are you looking in?
-
I've tried \aa25\25Assist\armyops\system and \aa25\server but Insurgent Camp isn't mentioned in anything I've look at so far.
-
armyops\Maps
-
What about the maps folder?
-
I've tried \aa25\25Assist\armyops\system and \aa25\server but Insurgent Camp isn't mentioned in anything I've look at so far.
What is your command line then?
-
I'm having the same error, I'm using this:
C:\AA\system\server.exe GLOBAL Insurgent_Cam
p?multihome=10.10.9.101?port=1716 -nohomedir
CONNECTING
OK
Invalid or unrecognised map filename
USAGE: server.exe GLOBAL insurgent_camp
Same error using:
C:\AA\system\server.exe GLOBAL Insurgent_Cam
p.aao?multihome=10.10.9.101?port=1716 -nohomedir
Verified the map file is under the maps folder(stock AA2.5 install + AAo25 install)
-
try Insurgent_Camp.aao
-
Change your command line too.
server.exe GLOBAL Insurgent_Camp -multihome=10.10.9.101 -port=1716 -nohomedir
-
Thanks JonnyM, that fixed it. I was still trying to use the old method before aao25.
CONNECTING
OK
LATEST v7.36
I AM v7.36
CHECKING AA Server Installation
AA 2.5 Server not found
I'll be able to figure it out from here.
-
When it does:
"CHECKING AA Server Installation"
Is it looking in the registry for the installation path?
I followed the instructions and placed the AAO25 files in the AA2.5 System directory, renaming the original server.exe to serverx.exe .
This is a portable install however, so no registry edits for the install path were made. Is there a way around this?
I'm going to try manually making the registry entry for the installation path to see if that helps, but a method of being able to set the directory to find the server files via command line arguments would be great!
-
There is no registry entry whatsoever.
When it says "CHECKING AA Server Installation" all it is doing is checking the md5 hash of serverx.exe
-
Please update, the link for ldedisrv.tar.gz no longer exists.
Thanks

This looks to be the one you want:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/aa25assist/files/Binaries/25srvnew-lin.7z/download
I'll update the links later on.
-
Thanks for your reply, I know that its a compressed 7z but the file thats compressed, what is it? I tried executing it, renaming it, compiling it. None of the above worked.
Cheers
Nath
-
Oops will fix that later today. those files should not be there.
-
LOL, ok... I finally got it half running after require a fair few libs, runtime errors everywhere. A link to the old one would be good ;) I'll give up for the time being. Cheers

Error Message:
Uncompressing America's Army for GNU/Linux 2.5.0........Extraction failed.
Signal caught, cleaning up
Who can help?
-
I downloaded the Linux Assist Server Manager (8.19.1), then I clicked on "Create a new server", Assist Server Manager downloads all the files and after uncompressing it shows:
"En exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application mush shut down."
If I remove everything and start from scratch it does it again.
Running on Ubuntu 16.04. Assist Client is working fine.
Any recommendations?
Thanks
-
Forget about it man, just create a server by editing the aao25.ini file and you're good to go!

Did you try running it as super user?
If you ran it from a console, you might be able to see additional information about the error.

Doesn't work on Ubuntu. Tried everything.

I find that Ubuntu 16 is not the most stable version even if v15 was almost skipped into v16. I could run on 12, 14, and 17 easily. On Ubuntu 16.x I was having some issues from time to time, in console mode.
