Hackhunter? Don't
-
No he didn*t use any kind of hacks. It's just a warning info like if you lay on the ground and try to shoot it's forbidden you will get 1/5 warnings
-
Yep, just a warning. Tell him to knock it off and all will be fine.
-
How can I do that?
Server config? (aa25.ini , aa25srv.ini)
or
admin command?
let me know how to do it?
-

... that's funny ... Even you can't defend yourself when you lying on the ground? Just running and gunning ... Where's tactics gone..?
I see, that this game has less and less to do with the simulation.
-
You can disable it in the .ini, just put a ; before the line that loads hackhunter.
-
Thank you !

I think you're missing the point here.
You are not allowed to shoot when going from crouching/standing to prone position, that is while your busy doing the particular action.
When you're lying down, you're allowed to shoot as much as you want.
As for becoming a simulation, in real life soldiers are actually encouraged to shoot from the prone position whenever possible because of the increased accuracy (obviously), at least in the army I served in that is.
-
Teddy, I think you misunderstood NBD's english :)

he must be doing some shitty cause that warning has nothing to do with laying down while firing :D

Enlighten me then, what did he mean?
Because from what I read, I thought he was saying that he can't even defend himself while lying down on the ground. And the only way to defend yourself, that I know of, in this game is to fire.
And that's why I thought that his message said you can't fire while lying on the ground (or in prone position).

AA is the Official US Army game, but it ISN'T a simulator, if you wan't "real combat" Get Arma/OFP series... or try to play with different tactics instead of bashing someone else work.

I do not know whether you were in Army or you have any idea about the guns and how to use it, but in real life, even in such a situation, you can use the weapons.

FYI, simulation and simulator it's not the same ...
As for ArmA: that's exactly what I'm doing. :poorguy:

I agree. You can use your weapon. But you won't hit anything.
At least the way we were taught involved having one hand on the ground when going to prone. While you can definitely fire a weapon as light as an M16 (I used a completely different weapon and was in a completely different army, though, so it could be very different in the US army) with one hand while doing this, your accuracy will be non-existent.
This is (to my knowledge at least) not the case in AA, where your accuracy stays pretty much the same.

Exactly. Much easier to disallow shooting while going prone (and reflects training in real life) than to try and code the game to give you almost no accuracy while going prone. I've not been through military training but I would imagine they would say don't fire unless you have good control of your weapon and assurance of what you're targeting. Of course, FUBAR situations come up so if you're trying to lay down suppression fire, it doesn't matter much.
Point is, players actively exploit this "feature" to where they retain accuracy yet they themselves are much harder to hit. It's much like the dolphin dive in BF2;

Soldiers in real life, usually shoot the ground by mistake while trying to prone and shoot at the same time. It is dangerous and can harm you, thus it's forbidden in training. But in real battle, no one gives a damn rally.

Yes.
And like you said, you'd accidentally shoot the ground, or maybe anywhere else, but you would, with high probability, not hit the target you're trying to hit.
But in this here game, you could hit the other player pretty much as good as standing still, which is simply unrealistic.
-
not to get to much farther off topic here but you were never trained nor is it even possible to jump around corners and headshoot enemys as your feet hit the ground in the military, but it still hasn't been disallowed in AA.
