Maybe. Homey said he would give me a database backup when he shuts it down but we'll see. that wouldn't really help us all that much though.

Wow, so you've actually got response from Homie after all these years..nice! thats something...
Does he have any interest to give up the site to anybody else?

I actually got a response from Homey saying that he'll keep the AA pages up for a couple more months to give us time to create a replacement. He said that after so long he just wants to move on from Battletracker and I can't really blame him for it. He's done so much for this game I think he deserves a thanks from everyone.
I did suggest buying BT in my original email but he doesn't seem to want to do that, and I don't really blame him. It's his site with a ton of personal user data and handing it over to a stranger would definitely make me hesitant as well. If he responds to my question about registration in the mean time I'll bring it up again and see what happens.

Yeah i didn't mean to disrespect him for being inactive for so many years. There are thousands of players who thanks him for running that site for us over the years.

i wonder why every other tracking sites die after a while...is it so expensive to run a site with a lot of data coming every hour?
I talk also from aapg player perspective. There has been some nice looking tracking sites but they die after a month or so...

Battle tracker is back up at the moment any way.
I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them.

Seems to be up indeed. But I wouldn't hold high hopes for it staying up for extended periods of time. The owner of it wanted to shut it down beginning of the year and I'm seriously surprised it's lasted this long.

So if BT goes down, does Assist go down?

No, Assist will continue to work just as it does right now.

EDIT:
To clarify, we've been running under the assumption that there is no battletracker for more than half a year now. So when it finally goes fully down, nothing will change.
