Which version of Windows are you running?
Do you have an anti virus installed (apart from Windows Defender)? If so, are you able to check if the file is blocked from executing?
Check your event viewer for any errors that may be related.
Also try running the application in compatibility mode (Doubtful it would help, but worth a shot).

Check out the account recovery page. You'll be prompted to enter a username or email. The account you have linked to your forum profile does exist, so you should be able to recover it. Reach out if you require any further assistance.

Your account still exists. I'll be sending you a personal message with your sign in name as well as the email linked to your account (it is the same as your forum email). If you're still unable to sign in, you'll be able to reset your password here using either of the provided credentials.

Hey, as the official auth servers shutdown some time ago you'll need to register a 25Assist account and download the client in order to download a copy of the game that will work with Assist.

If you haven't already done so, you can register an Assist (game) account here.

After doing so, sign into the client to begin the activation process. Once your account has been activated and you're signed into the client, the game will download via the client and you'll be able to connect to a game server.

News / Assist Emails Update

Hello everyone,

As you may be aware, we've encountered issues with email delivery, particularly affecting Gmail accounts (refer to Teddy's post here).

The good news is that we have resolved this issue. Gmail and other providers should now properly receive emails sent from aao25.com (such as password resets and forum registrations). However, these emails may still occasionally land in your spam folder, so be sure check there if you are expecting an email.

As always, if you're anticipating an email and it hasn't arrived, feel free to contact us on the forums or Discord.

As you may have noticed, some of you have recently experienced issues accessing the forums. The good news is that a fix has been implemented, and if you’re reading this, the forums should be working properly again.

Additionally, you should now be able to post messages to the shoutbox via the Assist website.

If you encounter any issues, unusual behavior, or unexpected problems that might be related to these changes, please reply to this thread so we can investigate.

Did you register an Assist account (here)? The account you use to login to the game is different than your forum account.

Also, ensure you are logging in with the username you registered, not your AA2 In-Game Name.

Am I hallucinating or is there a shotgun mod floating around for 2.5 Assist?. I seem to recall seeing a few servers running it and perhaps even playing it here and there over the years but I can't say for certain. I'm also not sure if there is a difference between the mod and 2.8.5, but figured I'd throw that out there.

Make sure that you're signing in with your UserName, not your AA2 In-Game Name as that would be your display name in-game. If your account isn't activated, it should state as such when attempting to log in. If it is saying your username doesn't exist, it is likely incorrect credentials.

I haven't worked on the tracker in some time due to needing a break but in response to this incident a few ideas popped into my mind to ease myself back into some work before I begin tackling some overdue plans.
I feel like this sort of thing is relatively uncommon, but on the odd chance suspicion arises in the future I've added a few tools that will hopefully help spot this sort of thing (at least to the point it can be brought to a Assist administrators attention for a proper investigation).

Searching for a name will now consider previous display names. The current name will be displayed along with an asterisk which when hovered will display a tooltip with the matching alias.


If a players name history is longer than 10 names, you'll be able to load the entire (tracked) history in increments of 10.


Finally, you're able to filter match history by matches played with another player. In this example, matches with both myself and Mr_Gunman-GB are being displayed rather than just my personal match history.

What he did was use a laptop or something at the pc next to him. I confirmed it was played from the same IP. He then either moved with his own account or the other, ghosting for one of them. Usually he used his 2nd acc as a free kill to ensure that he can then ghost for his 1st account.

To verify, I joined a few games to really see if this was happening.

Both accounts are now banned. As you see in the match history of work force, it is also already quite suspicious how one always dies a lot and exactly those sessions he has a very high fragrate.

As the tracker UI only displays the 10 most recent player names for any given profile I figured I would point out that upon inspecting the full name history list (which can be viewed via Chrome dev tools, the 10 most recent is client side for UI purposes) it does appear that the player in the original video on TomGunny's team was the same account.

This can happen from time to time through no fault of your own. Sometimes a server administrator will notice quickly and remove the ban, but otherwise you should be good to go as soon as it expires.

Give yourself a weapon (class r, etc) when you load into a map offline and you should be able to move about.
