Server Support / Re: How can I disable Warning Info's
« on: Tuesday, December 03, 2013, 02:22:54 AM »
I do not know whether you were in Army or you have any idea about the guns and how to use it, but in real life, even in such a situation, you can use the weapons.
I agree. You can use your weapon. But you won't hit anything.
At least the way we were taught involved having one hand on the ground when going to prone. While you can definitely fire a weapon as light as an M16 (I used a completely different weapon and was in a completely different army, though, so it could be very different in the US army) with one hand while doing this, your accuracy will be non-existent.
This is (to my knowledge at least) not the case in AA, where your accuracy stays pretty much the same.

Teddy, I think you misunderstood NBD's english :)
Enlighten me then, what did he mean?
Because from what I read, I thought he was saying that he can't even defend himself while lying down on the ground. And the only way to defend yourself, that I know of, in this game is to fire.
And that's why I thought that his message said you can't fire while lying on the ground (or in prone position).

... that's funny ... Even you can't defend yourself when you lying on the ground? Just running and gunning ... Where's tactics gone..?

I see, that this game has less and less to do with the simulation.
I think you're missing the point here.

You are not allowed to shoot when going from crouching/standing to prone position, that is while your busy doing the particular action.

When you're lying down, you're allowed to shoot as much as you want.

As for becoming a simulation, in real life soldiers are actually encouraged to shoot from the prone position whenever possible because of the increased accuracy (obviously), at least in the army I served in that is.

Yeah, WiFi is is crap for stable connection IMHO. Even with a great connections and all that you'll still have "freak" events where it laggs the hell out of you. That's why I play with a cable, even though I use a laptop.

Oh. I hate it when people don't know how to post full-size screenshots (or cropped ones).

That error has been there for years and will continue to be there. Something with PB. It's no problem.
That's why I was asking if it kicks him for it.
From reading his replies, it doesn't seem to, so I would guess it's not a problem.

Wanted to post:

Maybe he means something written in the console, which I can't seem to be able to read.

But you got ahead of me and that is indeed what you were trying to say.

Do you get kicked by that or it just shows up? Does it happen every time or just every once in a while?

I saw the server on FLS Assault yesterday (with over 10 people if I'm not mistaken).

Unfortunately, they changed it to Yeti's lair as soon as I joined..

Honor Claims / Re: Honor Claim

I would guess if he could prove he had an account before 2012, that would mean he should not be forced to do the training as everyone else with an account older than that.

But I'm not the one to make this decision.

Feedback & Suggestions / Re: AA3 Maps Discussion
« on: Friday, November 29, 2013, 06:50:41 AM »
The only thing they're doing is adding the maps from AA3, to this version (which is 2.5 btw), without any new weapons or equipment.

There will be no new engine coming with these maps, nor any considerable new graphics (maybe some little elements, but nothing major).

It won't slow down anyone's game as the admins here are working hard to keep the maps as light as they possibly can for the computer to handle.

Honor Claims / Re: Honor Claim

It only took about 15 minutes to complete SF S&E ...

With that said, I still wish you will be able to claim your honor points or at least your training then :)

The admins here might be able to help you, but there's no guarantee.

Sounds good to me.

Most clients probably never will use the server part anyway and having a separate server GUI sounds like a good idea to me.

But then again, I've never run a server, so I might be biased in my opinion.

It really depends on where in Europe you are. I'm from Estonia so my ping on most EU servers is between 12 and 30, but on US servers it's 45 and up.

I think you'll find that most EU servers are in the west side of Europe, which is not too much closer to me in Estonia versus someone on the east coast of the US.

« on: Wednesday, November 20, 2013, 01:04:18 AM »
Punkbuster bans are not usually permanent even if it says they are.

If it was not a punkbuster kick, it would help providing information about the server you were banned from. It's up to the server admins who they will ban and for what reason.

IMHO hearing people miles away, isn't really as realistic as you're making it out to be. When was the last time you were sitting at home and heard a neighbor open his bathroom door? Or hear him go from the kitchen's hard surface to his living room with a carpet?
