AA Support / Re: Find any of my other AAO2.5 accounts?

thanks, and yes I understand the 1 active account on assist rule, I just couldn't remember if I had activated any of my other accounts on 2.5 long ago since I've created upwards of five prior to 2009.

AA Support / Find any of my other AAO2.5 accounts?
« on: Sunday, February 05, 2017, 01:39:36 AM »
If this isn't in the correct board, move it please, but I've come back to 2.5 after a 2 year or so hiatus and I was wondering if I had any other tracked accounts in 2.5.

Main account name is ^100%.133t.m45t4

Tried using ACI history tool but I guess they've changed it quite a bit and it didn't come up with anything useful.

I swore I had one other tracked account but I can't for the life of me remember the username...

Right, when I said NVG that stands for Night Vision Goggles. I played it when it was included as part of a humble bundle.

Personally, I didn't find this game to be that great. Camping is greatly rewarded, and the way the lighting works in that game you can easily get fucked up by your teammates using flashlights on an NVG map.

General Chat / Re: SF Hospital - Better WITH or WITHOUT 203? The thread
« on: Thursday, January 29, 2015, 21:09:09 PM »
I think it's important to remember than the anti-spam rule was largely introduced onto servers that were SF-modded. When everyone had 203's, spam became an issue. It was also helpful on servers that ran urban to prevent mid-alley 203's.

I think something important to remember about spam is that it's just that - blind nade firing. I realize that the general argument made against 203's in the past was either spam or scaring away new players. Without some sort of quantifiable data on the second point, I feel that it is moot - it's just conjecture at best. At most (without data), it's a thinly veiled way of whining about the first point. If you just sit back and wait for a few seconds, let the nades land, you can rush as you please. In any and all cases, spam puts the spamming team at a deficit if the nades do not land. Conserving the 203 until later is much better for actually playing the map so you can use it when you actually see an enemy, and keeps the enemy guessing as to whether you have nades left to use.

Bug Reports / Re: Pipeline Smoke Penetration

Or in main entrance, from outside to see where people are hiding inside of main and prefire at them / flash them. I see quite a few people doing this.

That's interesting, why are textures allowed to pass through each other anyway? Rather, why isn't there some sort of collision detection for *specific* texture interactions (like wall and smoke)?

Bug Reports / Pipeline Smoke Penetration
« on: Thursday, January 08, 2015, 14:57:54 PM »
Hi all,

I'm not sure if it's a texture or a code issue, but one thing that I've always found silly is that you can throw a smoke in pipeline in the corner outside of main entrance and it will fill the hallway and main entrance with smoke. Is there any way to fix the smoke penetration of these walls?

Introductions / Hello from the ^100%.clan!
« on: Tuesday, January 06, 2015, 15:49:49 PM »
Hi all,

I've made a few posts elsewhere, but I figured I might as well introduce my group of folks all at once (there's not very many of us left) in one thread. We are ^100%. (pronounced Above One Hundred Percent), and we've been a clan since about 2005. We played on version 2.6 (until its slow decline made it difficult to play), so moving to 2.5 was not that big of a change. Of the current active members, KF91 and I are the longest playing (around since the the clan was formed) followed by Mattam and helmers. We are all located in North America, and we try our best to populate empty / low population servers every night to get them full in no time. We hosted a top 20 server (by battletracker stats) for all AA servers back in 2008 over all versions, so we want to see 2.5 flourish and grow as well! Although as a group we've been playing various games over the past decade or so, AA has always been "that game" and we usually find ourselves coming back to it.

We just started playing AA again about a week ago (after a 4-5 year hiatus, college and whatnot), and we will hopefully be around for a long time coming. We hope to see more of you around.

AA Support / Re: Issue with Assist automatically resetting compatability settings

Assist uses the default America's Army settings. Dark maps are meant to be dark, hence the lack of sunlight. You're not meant to have perfect viewing all the time. You're raising brightness to see better, basically a cheating advantage.

Looking at your screenshots, the default settings is how it's supposed to be. Have a look at this video:

That's intended. Looking at the screenshot of all settings maxed, how could you ever expect to realistically hide in that environment? NVG is there for that reason exactly, to see what you normally can't.

A cheating advantage? It's built into the game. Further, you do realize there are probably people who play right now who use this, or settings similar (who are not using Windows 8, any other version works) but people on Windows 8 cannot, right? That effectively puts Windows 8 users at a disadvantage, rather than the other way around (which is what you are trying to say).

There is no such thing as preventing a game from being played played 'the way it's meant to be played' by changing settings built into the game around. They're in the game! At what point can you even begin to delineate between "cheating levels" and non-cheating levels of visual acuity settings? The irony of this whole thing is that you guys very mockingly asked if what I wanted to do was a joke at first, now you're calling it a cheating advantage.

Look at the video posted for "how to make an enemy run away" on SF pipeline. He doesn't once need to use NVG even though he's outside. He can see everything because his settings are correct for the map (they are not the default Assist settings). I don't see anyone calling him a cheater.

And you do realize that there is a STICKIED thread of keybinds on one of your forums for changing the settings, right (for different areas, dark outside, light inside etc.)? If you're going to call this cheating, then those are certainly cheating as well. The numpad 1 keybind is so similar to mine (try it out in game) that it virtually makes no difference in what you can see.... except it is different than the settings of AA Assist.

... TO BE A RESPECTFUL HUMAN BEING ..?

Look at this face:

... fucking scum ... His mother did her best to raise their children, feed her family ... and he in thanks cut off her head - for his own mother ... I hope he will spend the rest of his fucking miserable life in prison being a bitch to everybody. Death sentence is not enough ...

What the fuck is wrong with some people ..?

@bollie: Shut The Fuck Up !!!

Ps: pardon my French ...

Mental illness will do that to you.. although this news article only gives details directly leading to her death, we have no idea what kind of issues he has, or issues he has had with his mother in the past.

This is a joke right?

Not a joke at all... have you tried it? A little aggressive for a modpost..

So the way ArmyOps works in Windows 8 apparently I can't take screenshots, so I've taken a pic of my monitor with my settings in E and E. You can see that it pretty much looks like a daytime map... this helps a lot when playing pipeline or other maps that have dark corners. It also doesn't really oversaturate bright areas (even though the picture is obviously only dark, for E and E). I've been using these settings for about six years.

The grenade symbols also do not glow (that's the digital camera's fault)

E and E training with my settings (all maxed).

This is E and E using Assist settings for Windows 8; much harder to see any dark areas without using NVG.

E and E training with Assist settings.

AA Support / Issue with Assist automatically resetting compatability settings
« on: Monday, January 05, 2015, 05:19:24 AM »
So recently, I've been trying to recreate the settings I had previously while playing AA on an older desktop with Windows XP. That is, with all brightness, contrast and gamma set to maximum (which is better than the default settings that Assist gives, I feel).

If I want the graphical setting changes to have any effect in fullscreen, I have to run Armyops.exe as an admin and uncheck the compatability box in properties for the app (which will make it run for Windows XP).

The problem is, AA Assist for whatever reason will reset these changes. It will make ArmyOps run as a regular user and force compatability for Windows 7. If I run ArmyOps by itself, I can change settings to my heart's desire, but of course being required to run ArmyOps through AA Assist causes issues mentioned above. Is there any way to prevent AA Assist from forcing ArmyOps to run for Windows 7 compatability and disallow running it as an admin?
