I wonder here really beyond pissed why a game like this old AA was never made for so many years, no more bridge crossing and pipeline or even anything similar.

I wish you would all teamed up and really made a whole new AA like game using latest Unreal Engine 4, direct buy for me.

If I could code and do 3D I would have made a similar game even if it took my whole life, this was the most game I ever played by FAR while the games I bought the one I may have played more hours is like 250 while I had so many thousands on AA UE2.

I would kill to have this game back with nothing changed, just better upgraded visuals on today's UE4, nothing else it was PERFECT.

The only thing I find similar in realism is Squad, but its a completely way too massive game that is more booring and without the awesome pipeline, weapons cache, bridge crossing............. Its just HUGE map battles in it and after the vehicles update it actually ruined it 4 me since before was more AA like than now :(. I NEVER GOT AA SENSATION BACK EVER on anything else  (I miss that sensation but in a new actual game with lots of ppl and official servers).

PS: I even feel like killing those stupid devs who ruined it, they were actually the devs I had more consideration EVER to Hideo Kojima level, but after AA3 I hate them so badly grrrrrrrrr I wanna really punch them all in the face :makemyday:.

Mova "C:\Users\guily\AppData\Roaming\25Assist" para "D:\games\25Assist", coloque o 25Assist.exe e 25Assist Libs no mesmo lugar da pasta "25Assist" (ou seja em D:\games)
Acabei de fazer isso mas nao resultou.

Agradeco na mesma.

----------------------------
It's covered in the readme in Assist and also on this website.
Who reads that?  :D

Anyway I still can't get it to work.

I moved "C:\Users\guily\AppData\Roaming\25Assist" to D:\games\ like Possessed said, but it didn't work.

After opening assist25.exe the program started to download right away the settings, then I gave it again the folder of AA as being on "D:\games\25Assist\armyops", but the bastard still copy it to the default C:\... location  :?

I'm not getting it to work...

I have this folder D:\games\25Assist.

Inside I have the game in folder armyops, and I made a new folder called launcher and inside that is the 25assist.exe and the 25assist Libs folder.

But after setting it as the AA place it says it didn't found AA, then I manually add AA and it starts copying it again for the original folder at "C:\Users\guily\AppData\Roaming\25Assist".

Hello folks,

I saw that in this newer versions of AA25Assists it always make the game to go on: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\25Assist

Since I have a SSD 120GB, I don't have much space on C:\, and even when I have an HDD I never use a partition with more than 100GB on the C:\.

All my games for many years go to D:\games\.

ps: Can you please let us install AA on other location?

Creative sells a good all-in-on software suite with all the goodies, but I wanted it for all my pc's, I asked them if I could use in all of them and they said it might work, but some people were having problem by doing it (is this supposed to be a answer?)

So I never bought it or I might only be using it on a single PC.

"A 10-band graphic equalizer allows you to enhance your gaming audio even more.", it also offer most of the creative known sound card features, but via software, it even includes EAX 5.0 support

ps: My laptop also doesn't have equalizer (it has, but after installing creative THX that comes with the laptop, the original driver disables equalizer). God damn it...

So in short you want us to enable that some people to hear better than others?
Better if we try to keep the playing field as even as possible, not to go out of our way to enable more difference.
It doesn't give any advantage... It's the same sound, just have improved bit rate with more frequency into them (sound quality)...

If you hear a 64kbps mp3 and a 128kbps on the same encoder, you will hear what I mean.

And actually if I play AA on WindXP on my older laptop, I actually play with HARDWARE SOUND + EAX with my creative card (They work right away on windXP without needing creative alchemy)...

ps: Only wind Vista and above have hardware sound disabled into them, and creative alchemy just restore that for the older games (since modern games also don't support it).

You shouldn't even mention that game... It even has nothing to do with America's Army (it just have same name, but its a very different CRAP).

I have a RGH X360 too, but didn't even bothered trying that crap AA for X360.

ps: AA3, AA4, AA True Soldiers, they can all BURN IN HELL  :makemyday:

LOL...

But like I said, you don't need to use EAX.

Just by using Hardware sound makes a whole different level of sound quality in the game, and doesn't add any more reverb since EAX is off (you chose to activate or not in-game on audio settings...).

The thing is if we can have hardware sound support in the game, I think the "dsound.dll" should also be added to aa25assist with md5 hash protection in it.

And the sound quality change a lot from sound card to sound card, since I remember using my very old creative sound blaster 24bit live or something like that, years ago, and it made a totally different AA hardware sound than my little modern creative X-fi Go Pro USB.

This one support EAX HD even though it's not much good. The older creative would fail on some effects under AA hardware sound.

Adding creative alchemy is just a plus. You can enable\disable, and put the sound quality as you like, so it doesn't make any difference for people that don't want the hardware sound quality in the game (you can even activate\deactivate in-game by chosing HW or 3d audio only which disables hardware).

Also if you don't install creative alchemy, you won't ever have hardware sound under win7 on this game, so it doesn't make any difference for most people by addind the ".dll" to aa25assist (I mean it won't make people to have reverbs by just adding support for it...)

For me it sounded just like a lot of echos.

But I'm a dimwit when it comes to sound ;)
It's not just echos... (the rooms kinda sound like it would on real life).

But I also don't like much the echos.

However every other sound effect have way higher quality than software audio.

Even in the menu, when you move your mouse into options it makes a higher sample quality effect than without directsound support.

ps: And you can remove the echos and still have all the new higher quality sound effects by just simply chosing Hardware 3D audio instead of hardware + EAX (without creative alchemy you can chose them, but it makes no difference, unless you are playing on wind XP, you need alchemy to have directsound on wind7...).

Well... You won't ever have 3D hardware sound on AA under Wind7.

Hardware direct sound are disabled on wind7. With Creative alchemy you can unlock the full quality back.

I just made a video with the difference in sound quality with Hardware sound vs software sound (which is only what you all hear in AA, since you activating hardware in AA it doesn't make a single difference under Wind7 since it doesn't support it).

SEE MY VIDEO:

(WATCH THE WHOLE VIDEO IN 1080P)

It's not just reverbs. AA will sound totally different.

Guns sound way more metallic, more crystal clear, and you can clearly hear a lot more frequency range (they go way higher frequency than the original software sound effects). Sound effects have higher quality bit rate.

ps: I'm sure Spanky will hear the difference right away since he is a "sound man"  :D

where have you been all the time guily?
because AA4 is out - to play it, it is more from AA3 then from AA2.
What? OMG... Screw them, again same crap. Lost my hope now  :makemyday:.
alchemy does nothing, dont even bother
I'm sure you never tried it then. I tried it and it sounds totally 100% exactly the same as it sound like on Wind XP by hardware + EAX.

Without it, activating 3D, Software, HW+3D, it does the same sound effect without creative alchemy on wind7.

And actually even just the AA main menu alone already sound different with direct sound EAX.

ps: Alchemy only work for creative soundcards with EAX (or probably any other sound card with Creative EAX in it, like my auzentech have).
The same sound from XP still exists with AA, X-Fi, and Windows 7. If you have an x-fi and played AA prior to Win 7, you typically had to turn your CMSS-3D to 100% "Surround" when in Entertainment Mode. In Windows 7, turn the CMSS-3D thing all the way to the opposite direction, 0% (Front). The sound should be fixed.
Newer cards don't support CMSS anymore, and still if the card have not got EAX support it won't ever activate EAX on EAX supported games.

If you go on youtube you will see the difference of EAX. For example in some games you talk with your mic, and your voice on every single room will sound totally different from each other

EAX isn't really much related to 3D, but more with the ambient, making every room to be 100% different from other.

ps: I'm using a crap Creative X-fi Go Pro USB at the moment, because I don't have space for my auzentech X-fi on my board with this bloody crap 3 slot GPU...

there are pros and cons about that.
dont know; it should stay like it is now.
Well, there's a con for adding a blood pool (which is probably hard coding)...

But for the hit effect, if it's already there, at least it could look more red and liquid (can't the texture be extracted and replaced by a better one, or hex edited?).

I think I have seen someone doing some crazy server-side things.

At least long time ago on the hacking community I believe someone could inject textures into the game (they were making something like CS spray's on the walls) and they were also working on some kind of music player too...All serverside...

A blood pool would be amazing for this game.

ps: But I would be happy with the injury blood texture being improved (like changing the texture for something more liquid, bigger, and less transparent, because it looks like a pink smoke coming out).

Sorry for digging this...

I also have an Xbox with XBMC. I tried AA back then (Long time ago), but deleted it right away, it looked to me like it was worse than the PC version (anyway I wouldnt ever play such amazing FPS on the Xbox).

Is there really anything better or added to the xbox version that we can't find in the AA2.5 (I didn't even lost time to watch the whole game on the xbox)??

ps: Back then AA was on fire, 24/7, Good Times...

Damn it. But still, versions and versions of AA2 were made, each needed a new compiler... But that issue was never fixed by anyone (I call it stupidity).

ps: There are games made under the UE2 that came out with excellent shadows for back then...
