Title: Training is back
Post by: JonnyM on Thursday, August 01, 2013, 02:10:01 AM
For the last 18 months Training in AA has been dead, when official auth was shutdown and we built or own auth system we did not bother with training because no one cared about it. Later on it became apparent this was causing problems, Because players did not have to go through the long arduous process of getting qualified they did not respect their accounts, It was all to easy to just create a new account and then jump straight into the game, we had people with over 20 accounts to their name and they would use these accounts disrespectfully.

So on the 16th of August training will become MANDATORY again, If you have not completed your basic training by then you will not be able to play. You have 2 weeks to get qualified.

Accounts that were created before the official auth shutdown can be assumed to already have complete training so will not have to do it again but any account created after 1st Jan 2012 will need to do their training.

If you find any problems with the training system please report here, We are aware some people have an issue with blank slides in the classrooms, we are looking into that soon.

I might redo some of them for old times sake.

Does this mean that sniper training is required to be able to use the sniper slot again?

Nice :).

Now next up: try to change the parental control, remove the no sniper, or let the people having no marksmanship get an m16 with 30 bullets like on the later versions. So the 18b=18C exploit will not work anymore.

At least ambush has a chance to stop the escort rushers a bit. Otherwise escort is even more overpowered. But that discussion is for another topic. Not here about training.

HAHA the only thing I see from you bol is a spamnade at the beginning of the round, in case you got a c18.

Hosp without spam would be great but that wont be happen I guess xD

BTW Bart: 18B = 18c was never an exploit.

They changed it in later versions because it made the whole game unbalanced on hosp because of the very fast B spam slot.

it's not an exploit, because it was not intended to happen this way but it still happened because people found out it gave you an advantage so they exploited this advantage.

Do you see the fault in the reasoning?

Why exactly do I have to waste my time to do this training? I have played on this same account since the game came out 10 years ago. I have never cheated, played on every single anticheat this game has ever implemented, won 3 different lan tourneys, and have never been suspended or banned for any glitch or exploit.  Is there no way I can bypass this? This clearly is not meant for me.

I think the main problem with the cut off date is that some veteran players might not have had a battletracker account until they needed one to play when auth went down.

Jonny, can accounts be manually updated like honor claims? Maybe people can post training claims? It would be hard to say how much training they did but maybe just exempt them from basic training so they can play again?

I finish the course (with more than enough required points), walk to the board, save results, press escape and exit, and this appears:

I did the MOUT training, saved and completed without any problem.
I do use the same 25Assist version that anyone does.
after clicking on the Score board and then clicking in Save, wait 1 minute or more(in the Saving screen) before you Close the game.
If it doesn't work, join a Server and then try to Save ur training again...

Indeed i tried again several times like you guys said to slow down the training... no dice... eventually i started to use pistol because i had to reload alot more which takes more time... this did the trick.

It appears that for some training you need you to be very slow to complete them...

However Possessed said to wait when posting results, this had no effect. Just slow down and play like you never handled a gun before.  :makemyday:
Title: Re: Training is back

Things are progressing well with this.
You will not be able to join a map if you are not qualified for the tour is runs on, Just like AA was before offical shutdown.
You will not be able to select weapon slots or medic slot if you are not qualified for it. Just like before.

But to add a little extra fun you will not be allowed to keep a weapon if you are admin forceclassed or join a forceclass server either, the weapon will be taken off you and you will be given an m16.
So there will be no sniping without sniper training and now SF weapons without SF training. This is give players a goal to aim for, keep them in the game building up their honor before they are rewarded with nice things.

And others will find they cannot have nice weapons playing with their 2nd, 3rd, 4th......73rd account anymore.

"So on the 16th of August training will become MANDATORY again, If you have not completed your basic training by then you will not be able to play. You have 2 weeks to get qualified."

From the OP, so after the two weeks people can't make accounts anymore? I am probably misunderstanding, but that makes it seem like you guys will shut down the training then so nobody can play unless they have done the training before that date.

No, what that means is that currently you can still play without completing training. They gave people some time to do the training before it actually becomes mandatory to play. In other words, you can still create an account, you just have to do training before you can play.

are they using their main accounts or new accounts?

Can someone grandfather these 3 names in. This is Osiris and epic from overrated and the last names are jonny and proton from Audigy.  They tried to do the training but it did not save and regardless they have been playing this game since its inception and clearly do not cheat.

Osiris

[oR.epic]

-aud.Jonny-

-aud.proton

[oR.epic] shouldn't need to do training as his BT was made well before 2012 (BT says 2004)

A method to 100% save your training results is to click on "Save Results",
watch the hourglass work, wait for the message "Failed to save your training results",
click on retry and exit AA immediately. Once back in Assist, it will tell you that your
results are available. Click save. Done.

btw, do all accounts created after 2012 need to complete up to level 5 to play
Pipeline SF ?? I have my main old account and 3 newer accounts for which
i completed basic training 3 times in a row. But i still can't play Pipe SF, it says
i need to complete SF training. Fine, but that live jump where you got to land in
that circle is a real pain in the ass for me atm, so no pipe SF for me or what ?  :D

Use your main account, part of the objective of this change is to cut down on all the noon accounts people have.

Haha I thought I was the only one. Never really understood how to make that parachute move and not sure I know what flare means. So usually I just smash every key on my keyboard and after 4-5 fails it works ;)

FYI... training was very familiar... till I got to the M-82 50 cal sniper rifle..... something may need addressing with that one since I hit it dead on several times and it would NOT qualify me!  I hit dead center, loe right and left and high right and left... up on the fins of the mortar round... EVERYWHERE with no pass.   It also says to "LOCATE" and "DESTROY".  Am I supposed to mark it with a spot or something?  Please assist.  Oh and for the record. I am offended that we get no honor with mods... am contemplating going back to 2.85 if it still exists, or AA3.

I am offended that you want to destroy the classic gameplay the devs created and we enjoy.

Sounds like you were recently freed from the ice off a frozen ridge near the Austrian–Italian border,
after 4 years of unwanted cryogenic rest inflicted by some sudden murderous avalanche.

I'm afraid you'll have to accomplish a lot of catch-up work if you want to understand
the intricacy of our game's current situation  ;)

The training does save, just not in AA. They had to have an account before, I don't know that we are doing training claims.

mine was stolen apparently, cause when I first played 2.5 assist someone still has my name registered so I made a new account.

-aud.Proton is my new one since -aud.Proton- name was still in use.

Why do we have to do training again?  I have four 100 honor accounts, all have been 100% trained for a long time, let alone this account.  I played AA before it was even available for download.

Can someone please train up my account?

As far as I know that's not a possibility yet. I'm not sure if they're planning to do it or not.

We should do this... Rapture just switched his server to mAAp Pipe and I can't even play because I don't have training :(

In mastakilla's case, i recon it's ridiculous, but agreeing to train up accounts
for a few would lead sooner or later  to the opening of a "pls-train-my-account"
thread, in which all veteran players would beg to have their account trained...
And there's a lot of them. That' would only create frustration among the rest
of the players.

It would be the same thing we did with honor when the game first came out. We did a ton of honor claims. I'm not sure how training is handled but if it could be updated in the same manor it wouldn't be too difficult.

No it wouldn't i agree, but i don't think that adding more administrative work on the admin team
now is a good idea, as their main focus should be towards bringing the game forward.
For my part, i already completed the training for my 4 accounts, which took me 1 day at most.
Now it's behind me and to be frank, it was fun to get back to the basics, as instructor Rogers says  :D

You are mostly complaining because you have 4 accounts to do the training with. That was what the admins wanted by implementing that rule, have fewer 2nd accounts, and take more care of your first account. Doing the training one time is really not a big deal
