Just looking through some stats,
We seem to get around 140 players on line every Europe evening time.
Rate of player growth has slowed but is still growing slowly.
Very few US players.
Hackers always use Windows.
We have 2101 users that use this system regularly.
I am worried that the amount of people we are banning for hacking is going to adversely affect player numbers, Everyone we ban probably quits and takes some of their mates with them.
Though others would argue that by effectively dealing with the hacking problem people who quit AA because of the hacking fest it used to be will return in the droves now it is getting cleaner.
Just my thoughts. A for our target of 200 players on line at once by the middle of next month, It does not look likely, but is still possible.
Financial update, Although donations received to date do not cover start-up costs they are at the moment covering running costs and there should be enough in the kitty for another month at current system load.

Very few US players? O.o that's wierd, at this time there are many US hosted servers, high ping rate shouldn't be an issue no more.
I noticed many servers aren't really administrated, seems like they've been started and left on their own.
If you want a suggest, might be worthy to have a news page or a news link built into the Assist (short syntesis with a link pointing at the full news on aao25.org ). So at least players and server admins would be more aware and they might even partecipate a little more (and actually a thing like this was builtin in 2.8.5 client, which also had an irc tool to chat with).

Why do you gotta put it like that? Serious thread about statistics and you bring up OS bias. How many people use Linsux? :)

Took a snapshot last night, 200 players logged into the 2.5Assist auth system (not all playing for some reason, seems people login and leave assist open even though their not playing then game) anyways out of those 200 people, 4 were on mac and 4 were on linux, PATHETIC. people stop using windows please.

Probably because it's not working on mac's with Lion. Which is probably 90% of all the mac users.

I had to google but I found out Lion is the current Apple OS which runs on Intel so.... Why can't you guys install Ubuntu or Windows and get better performance?

Its probably almost all Windows because people running Lion maybe use Windows to play the game.

Not sure what you expected. Windows is by far the dominant OS and anybody who has a Mac that is up to date has to dual boot Windows to play AA.

yes, do not ban players for just a simple hack. we realy have not that much players...
local admins can manage them for a while. only if some one is doing realy hard hacking, we should let you know for a global ban.
and yes, i realy think that more players from bf3 and aa3 are often joining aa25assist (they will not coming back, but they will just join aa2 again). and for statistic reasons, watch players on sunday evening european time - there are the most then.
and by the way, i realy enjoy playing aa2 with aa2assist. well done jonny - thanks!

Would that be accounts logged in to the server and then not playing? Mines usually like that. So count me as 1 full time log in..
So does that mean we can move to a newer "Windows" only version then. :)

I think the issue is simply the fact that not many players are aware of the existence of AA2.5
As a matter of fact, the only reason I found about AA2.5 was because I was browsing the Battletracker forums.

We have made aware it exists to everyone in Australia how about you do the same in your respective countries by posting on forums ect as we did.

well its 3/25/12, a month later and im just curious, how many players did we gain in 30 days?

We have made aware it exists to everyone in Australia how about you do the same in your respective countries by posting on forums ect as we did.
Cats theres only a post on CG & only recently did i get on Got Games/Game Areana. Thing we should try and hit up some NZ gaming forums as well see if we can spread the word that way.
Do you have any contact with any of the administrators for the Aus AA Xfire group? Would love to get the message out to some older players.
Still believe the best way to gain new players is through google & other search engines.

Well i think still as many players not less not more. Around 150 every evening and Approximatlely 75 during the day
