As stated Above i dont use them or bitch about them i just avoid being hit by it, if i start bitching about the little things then any chance i have of bringing more players back to AA2.5 goes out the window.

Your Update is riddled with Pb Kicks for Slot Closed, And it hasnt been posted on here because the community i focus on is made aware while installing the assist and they are taken care of by my forum. The only reoccurring PB kick I've seen is for "PB Restriction". I've never seen, nor heard of a "pb slot closed" kick and would like to see the actual kick message. I've been playing almost every night for the past 2 weeks and have never seen such a kick. Also,  you should never just assume a bug is known to the developers. If you find a bug, report it. Worst case you get told it's being worked on.

As for the exploits, you never addressed my main point. How is Assist fixing them bad? How does it make the game boring? If you don't use them or don't complain, how does it even affect you?

Because it makes you no better than the actual developers who tried to make Americas Army better when they produced AA3,AAPG

People who have been playing AA2 for a long time love the game for what it is.. SIMPLE I dont complain or Enforce the rule because in Australian Servers 9/10 times Guy on West Wing Roof is dead within first 2 min and using the no Advanced Marksmen maybe offers the advantage of the 203 spam to the front Doors of Hospital but after 1-2 spams people improvise to avoid it.

Most US servers on Hospital Enforce the 30 sec rule with 203 which normally stamps out that issue when Admin is on which is the choice of all Server Owners., Does this warrant having to fix it completely when u may have Other Server providers who allow it and actually make Hospital a little more challenging?

like i said it may be a configuration in my server settings, but thinking of it i seen it alot on the 82nd Server and assumed you guys were aware of it and trying to provide a fix with this link on your assist that was there before last update.

There's no point in arguing this anymore. If you can't see why fixing exploits is good and not bad, there's nothing I can really do. How you related fixing exploits to creating a new game (your AA3 comparison) I don't know. It makes no sense and I'll just leave it at that. You're in the minority.

I would still like to actually see the PB kick you're talking about. next time it happens take a SS please.

I think we got a different interpretation of the word challenging here, but imo it is not more challenging for everybody if there is 1 more 203 with a faster slot, it is far more easy for the person with the 203 to get a cheap kill. Of course it is harder/more annoying for the other guy pushing forward, effectively slowing the game down.

I think it is way more challenging to fight with a gun you are less customed with and of which the aim isn't rediculously easy with a rediculously easy scope and autofire.

But maybe that's just me.

The setting to disable sniper(No Advanced Marksman) on the Parental Control page is now always set to False. It has been exploited to gain weaponry that was not intended.

In 1 hour all Clients/Servers should have the new Antipoke.u, until then you might get version mismatch on the file.


This is a good patch... however, it should be stated that it was indeed the intent to eliminate the S24 via parental control and substitute it for an alternate weapon.  Since the slot was an SF slot, the default M4A1 was used instead.

A better mod would have been to include a barrier just outside WW Lower door, which prevents spamming into 1st floor lobby (underpass) and eliminated the 203 spam from escort (eg: AA4 has a less clear line of sight (LOS) and you have to be on the 4th floor escort building or on the ground to hit a target in WW Lower).

I don't like any server that enforces a rule for spam (i.e. time).  If the map has issues, then change the map, not the rules.  Same goes for the game in general.  Eliminating the parental control is a great example of how to change the game to better suit the audience, though, personally, i think a sniper on such a small LOS map as hospy is just plain illogical.

I appreciate your opinion and you do make a good point, but your opinion runs contrary to most of the community. Any time we touch an original map we get blasted. Spanky added a railing to WWR to try to get rid of the "invisible player" issue and that went over so poorly we had to change it back. A fucking railing got that response, I'm assuming moving structures would be even worse.

On roof you could not shoot anybody anymore, but from escort building it was to easy for the sniper to kill everyone.

Definitely understand the sentiment.  However, sometimes the parent must guide the child... While I do not advocate the 25Assist developers and maintainers/curators of maps to become dictatorial, there is an opportunity for these people to contribute positive changes, regardless of the emotional outbursts of the community.

Regarding the rail on WWR (SF_Hospital).  It was a good idea with resulting effects that were not known nor eeked out.  As far as I'm concerned, Spanky attempted to fix a problem everyone agreed was worth fixing, only to have his efforts thrown back at him.  This, IMHO, was a child-like response, consequently my aforementioned view on parental guidance.  I'm surprised that Spanky even spends time modifiying this game, as it seems that a lot of his efforts go unnoticed, same for Eliz.

As for me, after six months of AA:PG, I'm headed back to 25Assist again.  I'll continue to play both games, as I still love AA2, being the only FPS series I've ever played (or really want to play).  Can't believe it's been eleven years since I first downloaded v1.7.
