Next version, Important info.

In the next 2.5Assist release there will no longer be seperate maap and aa modes. The mAAp files will be merged into the standard installation.
The downside of this is that everyone will have to download mAAp pack.
I understand that this is going to annoy some people but please understand that we need to do this to improve the security of the game.
We need to to standardise the installation so everyone and every server has the exact same files in their folder, Only then can we step up security to the next level.
I'm sure you won't mind having to download another 60 or so meg to keep the game free from hackers.

Jonny, are you going to hold this off until the mAAp public beta? Kill 2 stones with 1 bird so to speak?

Cool, cool. So I can strip a few other files? I know you can get rid of the music, that .ogg file.

Smaller install size :) But not for now. Maybe down the road. Time is better spent on mAAp.

Bots, check out this hot bitch Rachel;

She even helped the AA devs port to PS2/XBOX.

I agree some could be removed.
Terminal confilct and square could go imo, but i would need to discuss this with the rest of the maap dev team.

Imho, it would be better to have the community vote for the top 10 maps and just have that. That way we could avoid players dispersing, have a lower file size and still have new maps to play.

Certain maps, like GlassKillHouse and Ice are being developed further, so i would say that i agree in a general way but you might want to see newer version of such maps when they're will be updated in mAAp 7.

IMO, the only maps that could/should be removed are: Terminal Conflict, Urban Defense, and Sniper Canyon. I believe the either suit AA or are enjoyed by the community.

I've brought back SF Refinery from version 5 (it was removed in v6, not sure why). I would also like to see Berg come back as that map was simple but it's a unique concept that isn't anywhere else in AA - uphill battle, literally.
