Does anyone have a strong burning desire to help out their fellow AA players? If so, The next mAAp release is drawing nearer and it includes not only new maps and fixes for custom maps, but fixes for the regular AA maps as well. We would really appreciate it if you guys could look for bugs in maps (custom and regular) and report them here so they can be fixed.
I'd like for this to be a news post but I no longer have the ability to do so, so if an admin could do it it would be greatly appreciated.

We've fixed a few issues on Hospital, Pipeline and Urban Assault as well as improved the quality of lighting. The gameplay, layout and objects in the normal maps will not be touched (except to fix bugs/glitches).

I don't know if this is easily possible but maybe an update for mac could be implemented without power pc or whatever it is called.

I'm willing to help test the maps as well. Do you want us to just download the maps and play them in the current version of Assist, or do you have something else in mind?

Current version of Assist is probably best and easiest since everybody already has them.

MOUT McKenna - when you are down inside Blue, near windows to main street and if the street is smoked, you are able to see no smoke while you look at the window glass.

Does anyone have anything to report about SF_Hospital? It's among the most played missions, i would bet there are a lot of little things that could be improved.

Just a FYI, I finished Aztec up. It's 32-slot capable now, has detail textures, high quality lightmaps and the default game type has been fixed. Should make for some fun.

Wel I'd day the roofbug on hospital. No idea what it consists in but when I kill people 3d floor they keep crying roofbug so I guess there's something wrong there

Whoever moved it forgot to uncheck the "leave redirection topic". It leaves a shitty "MOVED: <thread title>" that clutters things up.
Ganja, I've done work on the ambush roof to try and get rid of the bug, it needs to be tested though.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I'll check it out when I get home.

I'm not sure of where or what that is but I just took a look. If you're going to work on tunnel, lower all the projectors at the lower level, the ones in those little 2-man rooms that people use for cover/camping. The projectors aren't low enough to touch the ground (trace distance) I'm not sure why the devs didn't see that, it's like they put them there without looking at the screen... Also, increase the lightmap quality in the vent access rooms, there could be some sexy shadows in there.

Yeah I just noticed that. It's really weird but it wouldn't be the first time they added something and didn't use it. The elevator in Weapons Cache is actually a mover with different locations and everything, there just is no trigger to make it work. It's like they planned for it to work and then scraped the idea.

Fixed, I edited the T-Windows package. For the map release of Assist, there will be some original AA files that are edited and ELiZ (or whoever) will have to modify the original packages on sourceforge and the MD5's (pretty sure Assist uses them for verifying downloads).
For future reference for any mappers, to fix this issue, in the FinalBlend of a transparent texture, you have to set ZWrite to False.

Well after hours of rage inducing searching/deleting/adding on Collapsed Tunnel I can officially say that Collapsed Tunnel isn't going to get fixed. There seems to be no reason why it is happening. I even deleted all of the meshes in the tunnel and still got stuck.

I looked at the map and deleted the vents/grates on the floor. That seems to allow players to run down the hallway without crouching. However, you still get hung up on the edges. I'm not sure why this is but it looks like a BSP error/glitch.

Does anyone know if Collapsed Tunnel in 2.8 was the same way?
An easy solution would be to remove the pipes and playerblock from the halls but we don't really want to do that.

Just checked 2.8, it's buggy on there as well. Although, both tunnels are clear, just like in the copy I have on Dropbox.

1. sometimes you can not move up the ladders (from tunnel up or from ground to wooden towers. you got stucked then.
2. honor count. you do not need 4 players. as a single one you can select one side. if changed, just change back and you got 120 honors on your side. do the same again and another 120 honors are yours. maybe you can fix that too.

Well if you're talking about points it would be nice to use the system they had in 2.8.5 (maybe they had it before) i.e. must play all the rounds to get your points ...

as i can remember, 2.8.5 counted honors even when you finished a round, but you had to be at least 4 players. this would be ok for me, also if only 2 players are in. but without any other player to get the points, this is not good.

Can't remember exactly but there was a bug regarding leaves : when there was smoke, you could negate the smoke by looking through a leaf - maybe on Blizzard/Woodland I'm sorry I can't recall where...

If you could find out where and take screenshots, that would help. There's tons of transparent textures and checking/editing them all would be a bit of a pain.

New map testing will be some time later, right now we want to focus on the current custom and regular maps in the game. As for the honor points problem, I'm not really sure what you're talking about. As far as I know you need at least 4 players to get any points. I'll take a look at the ladders in square, most of the other stuff in Square is already fixed though.

You join a Square server. You're alone. You suddenly switch teams in the middle of the round(if you do this, AA will end the round saying "Apposing forces eliminated" and swap you to the other side). Now in a normal map, you would get no points, but in Square, you get 120 points every time you do this. It doesn't happen when you do objective (in fact you don't even get goal points for each objective), only if the opposing forces is eliminated.
For example even if you're 1 on 1 on Square, doing objectives will give you no points at all, but killing the enemy will result in 120 goal points every time.
I hope you can now understand what Merlin was trying to say. :)

To further expand on it (seeing as for some reason I cannot edit posts in the news section) I fixed it way back when I edited the scoring for Square so the points weren't huge.

Thanks :) Even if very few people play mAAp when this is done, I'm sure many people will at least appreciate bug fixes in normal maps.

No servers that I can see even support 32 players, it's just there as an option.

Assist has supported 32 players while the maps haven't (I think mAAp Pipeline did for a while). At least now, people have the option to play with 31 other people, it's just now a simple issue of paying for extra slots.

I bet that i was one of those complainers. I've mentioned that roofbug from the very beginning of aa25 since it was a common bug which came with the aa version 2.5. it would be reallygreat if you can work on that bug, but i do remember that you couldn't when i initially reported this bug back then.

It depends on the mission itself, maps (mission) weren't updated in this release ;) it will get public in the next one.
