Nelson Mandela has finally departed. He was one of the greatest men known to mankind.
He was always driven by forgiveness and reconciliation, always had in mind that South-Africa
had to belong to all South-Africans regardless of their color or origin.
He truly contributed to make this world a better world.
I loved him and i will miss him. Amen.

Honestly, I don't really know what he did. I know the name, didn't know what he looked like. Looked him up on Wikipedia and... didn't feel like reading all of it.
-
He good good work! Now its time to see what will happen with South Africa....
Rest in piece dude!

You should watch Invictus movie with Morgan Freeman, its not so much about the whole life of Nelson, but just a short period. Sorry to hear he passed away.
-
It's a very very sad news, he was one of a kind and did a lot for the africans ! RIP

Basically, he closed the huge social gap between 'black' and 'white' population in South Africa, which moved a whole lot of the rest of the world too.
The world lost a great leader and an idealist, but it's for his own good. I believe he's only been suffering the last few years, he's finally released of his pain.
One of my fellow clanleaders fought against Mandela as a white soldier in South Africa, but later fought for him.

Gus or Daniels?
Daniels, although Gus might have as well, considering his age and all.

I'm 24 so most of the things he did (according to Wikipedia) were done when I was very young and before I was born. Schools in America aren't good but I know for a fact, he was never mentioned.

In comparison, I had 2 months of history class dedicated to Mandela & everything happening during his eras. Which might also be due to the connection between SA and the Netherlands.

I really don't mean to hijack this thread so this is the last I'll say;
To be fair, I never went to college and could have learned about him there.
-
I fought against him.
One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist.
Having said that, I have nothing but total respect for Nelson Mandela as a person. Madiba as he was fondly known, stood for all the South African people no matter whom they were. I know, that I could not have gone through that which he endured and have come out the other side with a gentle and compassionate heart.
HOOAH MADIBA!!
May his departed soul rest in peace.
Gus

95, Lived a full life, RIP
On a lighter note, when I saw the topic all I could think was:
F#*King Spoilers
Explination:
A few weeks back my favorite character on the cartoon show Family Guy, Brian was killed of.
At the same time I read that The Simpson would also kill someone of in the near future.
So when I saw this topic all I could think was that the character Nelson was gone.

I think Brian's impact on the world isn't really that big, he was an actor, not a world revolutionist.
