It looks ... alright. There's no way to make a game scarier than you let it be. Having good speakers helps though.

Not every dev pays attention to this, but utilizing low frequencies in this kinda game is really good. Have a sub near your chair so the vibrations travel up to you and your bound to be feeling more than with just a pair of headphones. Or you can be sneaky and combine both. But almost all the time headphones > speakers.
