Title: Untitled Test Video
Post by: Spanky on Saturday, October 30, 2010, 20:50:54 PM
I really have no idea what to call it. I shot about 100 pictures while disassembling a laptop for a customer. Oddly enough the laptop was the same model as mine so there's 2 in the video :P I basically wanted to do something like this that shows the process of what I do. It's a laptop so it's not the same as a desktop as far as what I normally do but it's just a test. I hope to take tons more pictures while refurbishing a desktop to make a better video.

Enjoy:

I think thats a cool idea. You just need some mellow music in the background and this would be pretty fun to watch.

FYI, I purposefully moved the camera around, it's a style I've seen.

I like it. Really. I do. If you take the time to build a narrative with it, I am sure it will be very pleasing to look at!

Also, it may have been a style you've seen, but the placement of the camera and angle at which you shoot is yours alone. This IS your style.

Thanks. I think there were a lot of changes on the laptop that you couldn't necessarily see. I think a desktop will show more movement and be more interesting.

Thanks for the xp key.

You mean the key that was blurred in the full size picture? The one in the picture that was then scaled down to 1080p? Uh huh :)

I like it alot. The only thing I could add that hasn't been said here already is, take more pictures. If you are going to play it back that fast then take more pictures. OR take video and speed it up Mythbusters style <3

I was thinking of this but I'm not entirely sure how. Not having a tripod, it would have to take some creative thinking to pull it off.

Script that takes a certain amount of frames in a second so that it comes out the same way as snapping a shitton of pics and putting them together.

Adding an effect to a video wouldn't be as fun as taking a shitton of pics and selecting the right ones IMO.

Yea I know but I cant help to think that you individually sequence every pic because I once did something similar. I had to change the duration of every fucking picture because the default 10 seconds was wayy to long and I didn't know how to change the 10 seconds to something like .5 seconds.

Two solutions for that problem:

1. Redefine time per image to 1s or less and just keep adding it until you've done your sequence.
2. Import images with the pre 10s default option, edit it and export the video. Import the exported video and speed it up until you've obtained the amount of pictures per second you want.

In Windows Live Movie Maker I just selected all the images and changed the duration. I was really only in Movie Maker for a couple minutes.
