The Boondock Saints

Quote from: Wikipedia
The Boondock Saints is a 1999 crime thriller film written and directed by Troy Duffy. The film stars Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus as Catholic Irish American fraternal twins, Conner and Murphy MacManus, who become vigilantes after killing two members of the Russian Mafia in self-defense. After a "message from God", the brothers, together with their friend David Della Rocco, set out to rid their home city of Boston, Massachusetts of crime and evil; all the while being pursued by Special Agent Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe).

Possibly my favorite movie, definitely my favorite action movie. It was hilarious, action-filled, and had that touch of gore that isn't over-the-top and adds to the movie value. If you're into action movies at all it's a must-watch. I won't go on because I'm not gonna ruin any of it, and if you've seen the second one don't tell me about it because I'm waiting for it to come out on Blu-Ray  :)

I have heard very good things about that movie but have not seen it yet. I am not a very big movie person but I am probably going to get around to watching it sometime.

I always thought it was a movie version of that one black show on Adult Swim so I never looked into it. I may check it out now.

Is it necessary to see the first 1st movie before the 2nd one ?
or can you just see the 2nd one and understand it just fine ?

i own both of these on dvd, and yes; these are the most epic movies made. IMO They hide things in the movie and pun at different things, and tell people to grow some balls. if you like the grunge type of films this is for u

*********SPOILER, I guess *shrug*********

BEST scene in the original is when Willam Defoe is dancing around on the ground explaining the fight between Il Duce and the Saints ("THERE WAS A FIREFIGHT!") and as he's explaining it it shows him with them.

Here, found it on youtube. I guess I should warn you that it's pretty graphic.

FAIL!

The best scene in the first one is with Rocco shoots the cat. GTFO with the above post.

The cat scene, the rope scene, the "what the fucking, fuck the fucking, FUCK!" scene, the FIREFIGHT scene, and so many others.. it's just a great movie.
