Doodles & Sketches
« on: Thursday, December 09, 2010, 17:50:33 PM »
I have decided to commit myself to drawing at least once per day, so that I can improve my drawing, proportions, perspective, rendering and eye-capture. Depending on the day, I may draw more than one sketch -- thus, they (drawings) will be accordingly organised by date, as opposed to by number. I am also reading Loomis's books, considered amongst the most informative as far as Figure Drawing relates.

8th of December, 2010:
Sketch Number: 1st

9th of December, 2010:
Sketch Number: 2nd

10th of December, 2010:
Sketch Number: 3rd

Note: All made digitally, using Photoshop's default brush.

Cheers,
Any feedback is welcomed.

Looks good. Fairly proportional figures. Personally I'm opposed to perfect proportion because I think it looks off.

Have you considered a macro drawing of say, a hand? It might help you think of details that make up a hand. You can transfer detail knowledge to other stuff.

I'll do hands, feet, heads, body...with all levels of details. As of now, I'm just doing Figure Drawing from imagination (i.e:. from within my visual memory).

New sketch added on the 10th. Started at around 8:30AM. Took 15-20min.

Looks good. Although I've noticed that you seem to have a difficult time positioning muscles in the arms and legs. Otherwise, good sketches! I look forward to seeing more.
