Daybreakers is yet another take on the vampire film. There have been so many its hard to be original with this particular type of movie.
Daybreakers takes place in 2019, 10 years after a virus jumps from bats to humans. Making most every human a vampire. Vampires continue on living as humans had. Simply put humans are the vast minority and vampires live the same as they did when they where human.

But here's the problem, the human populace has been hunted almost to extinction. The vampires are desperate to get a blood substitute before the human's are all gone. Edward Dalton (Ethan Hawke) is a researcher at the biggest blood supplier around, searching for a blood substitute. And failing. Without blood the vampires turn into bat like creatures.

Daybreakers is a nice take on the vampire film, a plague that turns people into vampires. The acting was alright Hawke gave a good performance as did Dafoe. All in all above average. The special effects were really well done, you can't tell they are CGI for the most part. As a nice departure from most horror films, there is a fair amount of character development for Hawkes character. Don't get me wrong there is plenty of action but its not the main focus. This movie is gory, I would advise 15+.

Not a movie I would watch again but worth watching the one time. 6/10.

I hadn't heard of it but I may look into it now. However, I thought it was that other movie Legion until about half way down the description:

That movie (Legion, not Daybreakers) looks absolutely horrible.

I think Legion would be enjoyable, if only for the fact that it's most likely going to be complete shit.
