Post by: kMx on Sunday, January 15, 2012, 13:58:06 PM
On 2.8.5 there was this 2 cqb maps and people enjoyed playing on it  a lot, perhaps it could be converted to 2.5 and be added to a further mAAp release??What you guys think

I'll think about. The Cage looks like a smaller version of Glass Kill House. I'll do something about that since Glass Kill House is already a very large map.

I'm pretty sure I saw pool day a while back. Glass Kill House originally was just 1 room but I copypasta'd into 4 rooms. Maybe that was a bad idea :P If you edit Glass Kill House, remember to unflag the floor as a mirror before building :)

Funny, I got asked the same thing in a YouTube PM. It's a leaked version of the editor. The same software the devs used but not dumbed down and limited like the AA Mission Editor. It allows us to do anything we want, import anything.

That Pool map is a really nice one, never had the chance to play it but it surely is a nice cqb map.

Lol, i thought that mirror effect was done by purpose! It adds a nice look to the map, it even seems bigger than it actually is due to that.

The mirror effect was done on purpose but that effect only works in UE1, if you try to build/compile the map with a mirror'd surface in UE2, the editor crashes. So, you have to build, save, then edit the surface flag to mirrored and save again.

In case anyone didn't know, pool day is a direct copy of pool day from the original counter-strike.

While that is a good CQB map, let me be honest here, we have to do something about the pool in the center. And I don't just wanna add player blocking volumes because I strive for realism even in a map such as that. Even though AA2 isn't supported anymore, I'd still like to try to support some of the "army values" that you'd expect in the game. Of course the map will evolve overtime to something more realistic while retaining the fast CQB style.

They're small maps, you can do it by hand.
