Title: Entry
Post by: Spanky on Sunday, January 22, 2012, 01:34:29 AM
Thought I would spend some time re-doing Entry.aao which is the map you see when you enter the console (or load a map). Here's what I have so far:

(https://aao25.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdl.dropbox.com%2Fu%2F464376%2Faac_maap%2Fscreenshots%2FArmyOps%25202012-01-21%252022-32-35-53.png&hash=21dafc68474856c1976d6e3a88b4d69f)

Any comments/suggestions?

Well, I see desert camo soldiers and no desert :D

Could just make a sand ground, add some palm trees, a rock, and one of those generic desert houses in the bg. Think border + radio tower but much much simpler cuz its supposed to be a small map :D

Unless you're going for a simple look.

I kinda was just going for a simple white box with shadows on the ground. Giving the illusion of unlimited white space. The map as-is is around 750kb, 300kb larger than the regular one. I might try to add some sand and buildings though.

Offtopic, but does anyone else think that one particular soldier looks like Harrison Ford?

I dont like the humvee and crouched soldier

you right, he looks like he is an engineer and that he's doing something with the wheel of the humvee.

I guess the image is ready now, haha.

I'm also interested in making one image, just for fun maybe. Something more simple. What are the requirements for this image file?

It's actually not an image I'm using. It's a 3D map, just like all the other maps;

I can place any object in the box but I'm trying to keep it small for faster loading.

Ok. But you could basicly use simple image file as well?

I could but it wouldn't look as good.
