Welcome!

You will probably not recognize most of the people here as a lot of us are European.

But welcome back and happy fragging none the less! :)

Hello,
Welcome back ;)
Now I am confused.

I only just registered here, but have been in AA for a long time. Just getting back into the game, trying to find how to play offline so I can practice with the 203. Still getting in to the swing of things.

ELiZ is a name I know well, love the software.

In order to play offline you can just open armyops.exe at your AA install location. Then load the map the same way it was done years ago.
If you don't know where AA is installed, read Assist's README (HELP tab in Assist).

I just go to the training tab and load one up, then type open <mapname>.aao

Hello,

OK, now I am stuck. This is how I got AA2.5 up and running and what I can or can't do.

Downloaded and installed AA2.5, ran it but no auth server. Poked around and found I needed Assist.
Downloaded and installed Assist, it did its thing, I made sure everything updated and OK.
Jumped on CBJ server for 10 mins and it all worked fine.
Just been on another server with player ( got ass kicked ) but all was good.

I have the original icon on the desktop from AA2.5 install, and it runs, I can use console and open bridge, but I can not move or even change view with mouse.
Running through Assist, going to training and the using console to open bridge, I am in the same position. No movement or view change.

Any ideas?

Steve

you have to do  'playerlock 0' to move just like in normal AA.

Use the mpcheat classes to spawn weapons. If you wanted to get a rifle type 'mpcheat class r'

Hello,

It has been so long . . .

Thank you, that worked.

Now I have to return to RL.

I still can't believe everyone wants to 'mpcheat' (meaning Multiplayer Cheat) in an offline (i.e Single Player) game.
You can just write 'class r' and you're good to go.

You don't have to do any of that in offline mode. Open the map and type "class [insert class here] " in the console and you're good to go. No need for playerlock 0 and no need to use mpcheats.
