Gunny I've had issues like that and it always seems to be a Windows update snag. Maybe start your troubleshooting there, I've found that sometimes these updates dont happen in a timely manner

Your hard drive listed first in the boot sequence?

You have a bootable USB drive with a recovery tool repair the boot sector?? or just reinstall the operating system..

Restore the default BIOS settings Gunny. If that doesn't do it, then you probably have either a defective cable or hard drive

Thanks, Carmy, but it’s the PC itself. When I start up it comes up with ‘No boot device available’ and stays at a black screen. Been having a poke around in the BIOS, but it’s not happy about it. I’ll set up Assist on the laptop tomorrow, so I can at least play... Ugh, I see all my lovely darlings are on Urban right now... :(
