Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

If you've never played Uncharted, I apologize. The original was easily the greatest game I'd ever played, with amazing graphics and a storyline packed with enough action that people would pay to watch it played start to finish. The sequel surpassed it in all ways, making it far ahead of the original (still my second favorite game).

In the original game, you play as Nathan Drake, seeking the treasures of El Dorado with the help of your ancestor Sir Francis Drake's journals.  Now, Drake wants to solve the mystery of Marco Polo's lost fleet, gradually learning of it's connection to the mythical Shambhala and the Cintamani Stone, which grants great power and invincibility. Betrayed by your "friends", you must reach the Stone before they can and destroy it, not allowing the Stone to fall into the wrong hands.

The game was incredible, and just like in the first game Drake could get to anywhere he could see given a few jumps and the use of conveniently-placed rocks or ropes sticking out from a wall.

I give the game a 10/10, similar to the A+, 10/10, 9.5/10, 9.5/10, and 5/5 given by other reviewers.

Quote from: G4's Review
I’m not 100% certain when it happened. I think it’s when I had Nathan Drake atop a building in a war-torn Nepalese city, cornered and being fired upon by a helicopter, engaged in a fist fight with the screen slowly draining of color, snapping my enemy’s neck and quickly rolling into cover to reload my grenade launcher only to turn and fire upon the chopper one last time as I watched it crash and explode. I think this is when I realized that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was the best single-player game I have ever played.

My sentiments exactly :)

There's so much more I could say, but - like the first game - a twist in the end made me think: "Really? The game was perfect and they throw this into it." Unlike the first game, however, this twist added more to the storyline and the game was still amazing, while the original's twist nearly ruined the game. I'll let you go buy a PS3 and play the game, or there's many videos on youtube if you'd like to see more gameplay.

I gotta say that this was the first game that made me wish I didn't hate consoles.

When I first saw this I shat bricks, when I looked it up online and saw it again... more were shat:

Then this is the new one!!!!!! I'll have to say that this game has phenominal graphics and makes the PS3 very tempting...

As a kid, I always loved the Playstation. PSX was one of my favorite consoles and to this day I still love what Sony does for the gaming world. The PS3 is a phenomenal console and from even before it was out, there was a lot of anticipation that it would bring great things. Personally, I knew that the PS3 would cost a shitload because of the hardware it uses, which is exactly why games can look so beautiful (that is, depending on how smart/hardworking the game developer is). Everytime I saw people complaining about the PS3's price and how many times Sony would try to cut costs, it made me sad that they were selling low on such an advanced home console. But now that manufacturing process has improved for them, they can manufacture PS3's with less moneys making them more accessible to people.

Uncharted 2 is one of those games that really trys to use the PS3's power to make the game much more visually fluid than others. It looks like a lovely game, and it brings back those memories of old games where they had to use gameplay to entice people to play because the best graphics were at the same level as the above average MS Paint user. Luckily for Uncharted, it can combine awesome visuals and great gameplay/enviornment to make an awesome game.

tl;dr - PS3 graphics own, Uncharted 2 is fucking hawt!
