Borat would say it's boring. I had some left-over plexiglass that I wasted on a horrible project and thought I could replace the cover on this. Well I whipped out the dremel and sanded away my mistakes, drilled more than I should have and came up with this:

Another angle:

I didn't do anything for the sides for 2 reasons: I'm probably not good enough to fit pieces together at right angles and still make it look good and for ventilation, the old cover had slits in the top. It kinda opened up my eyes as to how fun plexiglass is and how nice it looks on things :)

Looks nice, but I wouldn't leave the sides open even if it is for ventilation.

That looks awesome, Spanky.

There's nothing wrong with having the sides open like that. Well, unless you like touching shiny things.

Thanks. I figure that the original case had sides but it also had ventilation slits in the top. Fingers, to me, aren't the worry since I've learned that lesson many times the hard way. I would be more concerned about dust which I would imagine have an easier time getting in through the vent slits in the top rather than the sides now.

hopefully any food particles wont get in there, bugs etc... I've seen Ant colonies inside radios.

Rare small bits of bread might get in but it's for the most part out of my eating zone. Soil from a plant might get in but that's only if the cat wants to risk it's life and come into my room. Either way, it wouldn't be conductive and I would clean it out before I turned it on, much like I did your mom Big.Bang.

Looks really cool. Would be sweet to do that to like a PS3 or something.

The PS3 has too many contours for me :P I'm sure they make clear case replacements. I know I've seen them for the 360.

A custom case would be cool for the 360 because it is ugly as hell.

Well, I guess food might be a concern. Spanky, just make sure you don't eat too close to it. Oh, and with the clear cover at least he would be able to see any ant colony before it got to big to control.  :P

Bangers :P Also, for the record, I'm not sloppy enough to attract insects, besides, I've sealed my room up pretty good.

Skrewup, I appreciate the walkthrough. Life would probably be easier if I had the proper tools. Right now I only have a drill, dremel and circular saw which doesn't help out too much with this :D No hacksaw or jigsaw =\ Even with the drill I seem to be imperfect, I had to re-drill the top screwholes a few times. I guess I'm just a noob :) I might make sides and I may have to end up cutting holes in the top but only after I have a spare piece to replace if I screw up lol. I'll keep your post in mind for when I decide to ruin this piece.

I took this a step further:

Metal mesh sides and plexiglass top. I plan to drill holes in the plexiglass for vents, it should look pretty good when I'm done.
