Spanky, you've got this set-up right? You have your bookshelfs connected to the TubeMagic and the TubeMagic is connected to the computer with RCA? Am I right? Cuz I've been thinking about getting these: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-SS-B1000-8-Inch-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B000OG88KY and I was wondering how to route those to the soundcard without blowing something up.

Looks like some good budget speakers. My setup is more complicated than that (see bottom of this post if you care). Basically to do things RIGHT you would need to get yourself some kind of amp. Quite often people recommend going to Goodwill or looking on Craigslist for a used receiver. This will do the job and give you more power than you could ever want. Connecting them to a line output on your computer, you won't get much volume and you may actually be damaging the speakers by not pushing enough power through. I mean, it can be done and I have done it before but if you care about your speakers AT ALL, don't do it.
My setup:
USB > Teralink X2 transport > Coaxial > TubeMagic D1 (only the DAC is used) > RCA cables > TubeMagic A1 > Speakers

are the speakers magneticly shielded?
I think Blue has a LCD for a monitor so it doesn't matter if they're shielded or not.
-
Magnetic shielding is for noobs.
I'll be looking around for an amp then.
Question Numero Dos: If I wanted to hook up a subwoofer in the future with these, I would just need to connect the speakers to the sub, then the sub to the amp am I right? I believe subs have their own LPF for dealing with cross-over.

There's usually a single RCA line-out for subs on most receivers. Obviously you'll have to research first and see what types of connections are used but I believe that's generally the way things go. If you're wanting to DIY, there's things called T-Amps which I think are portable speaker amps that are like the altoids ones. Might be something to look into, there's all kinds of budget DIY amps on Head-Fi.

Okay cool. When I get the equipment I'll post my findings.

With 2 floor speakers, I wouldn't need the bookshelfs.

Floor speakers are harder to drive, they generally need more watts. Bookshelves are typically for near-field and "quiet" listening.
