« on: Friday, March 01, 2013, 07:29:45 AM »
Hi!
By using HDMI cable, screen is missing blue color. Blue color is replaced with green.
The cable is fine, tested it with xbox.
With DVI everythings OK.

With HDMI:

Anyone seen something like this ?

Update your graphic card drivers to check if it solves the issue. Could also be related with the cable damaged...

Updating graphic card drivers was the first thing i did to try to resolve the problem. Cable is fine, as i now tested other computer on same monitor with hdmi cable.
Is there a way to restore something related to video, dont have any knowledge on this..

Seems like you might have a pin that has gone bad or is not making proper connection on one of the connectors of the cable that you are having trouble with.

If I'm right in presuming that when he tried the cable with his xbox, he used the same TV/monitor, then the only connection that could be broken is the one in his PC. So my bet is the PC socket is broken (or a pin gone bad like Grit said).

Radeon HD 7800

Now tried other HDMI cable twice,
PC-> monitor   - still same, display missing blue color
xbox-> monitor   - everything is ok

The graphic card is all right because before update everything was okey... Played with hdmi from June to February. Because of this havent played AA for a month.

My reasoning still suggests your PC's plug is damaged (not to graphics card itself, only the plug). It wouldn't matter which cable you try, it would still be the same.

Can you try the same cable from your PC connected to some other TV/monitor?

Now tried
PC-TV and still missing blue color.

I'm pretty sure its because of that windows update.
I mean the update which computer asks to do when you turn off your computer. As I pressed it, the 1 of 3 steps went fast (5min top), but the 2 of 3 was taking too long and I went to sleep, in the morning the computer was turned off and when I turned it on, the screen was missing blue color. So it can not be the cable nor the PC's plug as I didnt remove the cable from PC.

As for Windows updates taking a long time, I don't think that's really a problem. In my experience they sometimes just take a long time for no apparent reason (it's not like it says the ETA time when updating). But I've never had any problems as what you're describing with Windows updates.

If everything worked before the update and nothing was changed during it, it could be a faulty update (or something). But I really don't know if (or how) you can remove Windows updates other than formatting. Then again, there could be ways.

Also, if it really is a software problem, maybe try reverting to older video drivers instead of using the newest one, it might help. (although I do believe Windows doesn't update your graphics drivers in Windows update, but hey, who knows)

If you think it was a windows update then, shutdown computer, start pressing F8, choose Windows Security Mode and return to a previous state before the update date.

yes, a very good way to step back.
but before doing so, just try to download again the driver for your grafik card. i am almost sure, that windows update has overwritten your driver. so just reinstall it from the original one.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7870/pages/radeon-7870.aspx

be sure you did the right driver download. and be sure it is for your windows (32/64). just try first again. then step back as BiG_SerGiO did say.

good luck

btw: you should first deinstall the actual driver. http://support.amd.com/de/kbarticles/Pages/GPU57RemoveOldGraphicsDrivers.aspx
