FEATURES

ARM Cortex A9 core CPU (4 core)
SGX543MP4 GPU
storage: “new type of mini flash memory cards” (definitely no UMDs anymore)
new form factor (Sony speaks of a “super oval” shape)
touch pad on the rear that allows users to “touch” or “push” objects in games from the back
3G and Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b/g/n connectivity (3G for a portable gaming system is a first)
front and rear cameras
dual analog sticks
tilt-sensitive SIXAXIS controls
GPS
built-in stereo speakers, mic
Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
size: 182.0 x 18.6 x 83.5mm

This thing is almost as powerful as the PS3.......

Also, Gameplay of Uncharted on the PSP2 (NGP)

Wow, so many features, it's almost hard to believe. Now my desire's gone to have an original PSP knowing that it will be old and oudated.

I've have a PSP for quite some time and I have enjoyed it a lot, especially since you can hack it and get cool games and emulators on it. If you can get a PSP1000 or Early PSP 2000 for cheap, I would definitely get one.

On topic, I am definitely going to get the PSP2 if it is under $350.

$350 o.O I'm such a cheap ass. I think $150 for the current PSP is too much. I've seen some on Craigslist for $40-$60 before but the retards never reply or by the time they do, it's sold.

Considering the hardware that is in this thing, $350 sounds like they would be losing money. the thing is like a portable PS3.

This thing sounds great. My only peeve is that its not going to use SD cards... Sony once again making you buy proprietary memory cards to use their crap.. I mean the PS3 has SD slots and loads of other slots. SD is the standard and Sony needs to get with it. The stats on this are impressive, my only worry is it might get hot. All that power in a hand held. The res on the screen is awesome, but in this day of HD I think this would probably sell better if it was at least 720p.

That would require a better CPU and GPU, not to mention raise initial costs. Also, where's the line? I'm sure you could squeeze 720p inside an inch but what's the point? I think as long as the users, in typical use, can't see the individual pixels, they're golden.

I'm with ya though on the heat. I bet this thing is going to be a great handwarmer. I'm shocked on the features in the size. It's going to be less than 3/4 of an inch thick...

I'm also saddened. This will probably be a great device but with so many features and so much technology packed into it, I can't help but think of waste. Either when it's broken or becomes obsolete. +1 for Apple, building technology with recycling in mind.

Yeah glass and aluminum with a minimum of plastic. I do like apple for that.

You know ipad2 and iphone5 are using the same cpu as the psp2. Funny thing about this topic is me and some friend started researching this thing earlier today and we discovered the gpu is a fork of opengl2.1 for small form-factor devices and capable of shader model 3.0. As a meter stick for comparing, thats equvilant to the geforce 7 series. Chances are though the shader capabilities are more advanced than sm3.0 since sm3.0 is old as balls.

Oh and I hear the gpu has 4 cores also.

Just checked out the vid. Aiming with the gyro is pretty cool.
