Can't you change the overall sound profile in windows to headphone instead of speaker? Did you try the control panel options for the audio? There might be an option there that'll make it louder changing the actual volume.

I tried changing it to headphones, but couldn't find a way to do so.

Anyways, this problem is solved. I forgot to plug the HDA cable into the motherboard (couldn't find the slot) so the front audio panel didn't work. I fixed it and now it works fine.  ;D

I guess if you blindly throw enough money at something, you'll get good results. I just... you could probably pay less to have better sound quality if you looked around and learned a few things. All-in-one Sony systems can't be that great. But, congrats on getting it working, that could be your first step into DIY stuff.

I've never heard of tweeters with horns.

Spanky's post has challenged me to make an equivalent to Skrewy's system with less money.

This is a 5.1 system, but it probably won't sound any different from a 7.2:
Front floor speakers (Sony SS-F6000): $200
*I thought these looked like beasts*

Front center speaker (Polk Audio CS20): $170
*Good range center for that surround-ness*

Rear speakers (JBL ES20BK): $203
*JBL knows how to make speakers*

Subwoofer (JBL ES250PBK): $280
*Active sub, it's a beast. Better than 2 subs*

Your choice of either receiver or power amplifier: $???
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Total: $853 + $???

Opinions?

4 subs sounds epic. That's an IMAX setup.

There's just so much more customization with a DIY surround setup. Sony's all-in-one could have an awesome receiver/amp but sub-par speakers. The thing is, you can buy a receiver/amp that will last you forever and just change/upgrade speakers until you find something you like. Not $1000 when you feel like upgrading.

Yea, Logitech is fail but there's worse out there. I remember when Kody got those, he was pretty pleased with them and that's what matters :)

But man, you gotta be able to push that RAM further! I'm at 1720MHz with 8-10-8-24-1T timings and I'm gonna keep pushing it. You should be able to hit CAS 7/8 with those.

I'll post mine up after I finalize my overclock a bit more. Kinda sadface I didn't get to 4GHz but I'm at the top end of where the MHz per voltage increase drops off so I'm pleased.
