Nate, my NB is at 2.9ghz. Also my 4ghz overclock hangs out at around 29-33c at 4ghz. No speed step for me.

Hand over your settings. I have no idea how you did that unless you're running crazy crazy volts which doesn't make sense for the temps. Although speed step does play a factor in mine...

Even with what I said, he probably won't notice the improvement to the 1090T but he won't have to upgrade for a while (and now his new motherboard supports it). It makes more sense for him to upgrade CPU's when he doesn't need them because he doesn't overclock and can't squeeze more performance that way. I'm really on the fence about it but, it's skrewy's money and if skrewy's happy... that's all that matters really.

suck my nipples bitches :)

Put some vegemite on them and I will.

Seriously though, Skrewy disassembled and re-built his computer with a new motherboard. I'm impressed and proud.

Don't be ashamed of the Xonar. It's still better than most people's onboard sound :)

Might think of upgrading to one of those beefy Thubans sooner or later...but i would really have half of it sleeping (i don't have nothing special that needs to run on 6 cores). Most likely i'll get an AMD 78xx card when they will toss the cards out to retail (if they won't literally eat my little psu).

Koden, I would be careful with your PSU. I have a system running a Phenom II x4 BE, 4GB of 1600MHz RAM, single hard drive, single CD drive and a Radeon 6570. It runs fine without a problem but I wouldn't really push it beyond that. The system is similar to yours although Nvidia cards eat more power. If I were you, I would get one of those Corsair Builder Series 500-watt or so PSU's.

As far as using 6 cores. It actually is really nice. Games may not fully use it but it's great for starting Windows and using a browser that supports each tab as a different process. Enable Cool 'n Quiet and it will downclock itself when you're not using it.

My PC is running on a 400w PSU even though my 8800GTX recommends 450w. I haven't had a problem....yet. I do plan on buying a corsair 500w if I ever upgrade my PC though.

PSU's do lose capacity over time. With that said, a lot of people do underestimate low-wattage PSU's. They can be better than crappy higher wattage ones. Not to brag but that's why I got the Corsair AX850. 7 year warranty and more power than I'll need for a long time. It was a lot of money up front but it will mean that I shouldn't have to think about it for 7 years at least. That's quite a while in terms of computers.
