Soon I am ordering in 2 GTX 570s for skrewy. The 2 GTX 570s are about 10 - 15% more powerful than a single 6990. Skrewy wanted me to post this just so his E-Peen would be bigger.
-
Call me when Toy Story finishes rendering in 4K.
-
You know that 570's are nvidia and nvidia doesn't do crossfire right?

This.
Did you mean SLI? Because you can't crossfire Nvidia cards.

skrewy can.
-
Also.... you can't SLI on older AMD boards without that hack... lulz.
Seems like overkill for faggotry LOL and other RTS games. Guess I'm just butthurt that I couldn't afford even 1 570, not that I'd want to.
-
Also two 570's use like 20% more power than one 6990. That's a lot of power usage for 10% more speed.

Twice the card space, lot more heat, more PSU cables and not to mention more strain on the PSU for having to distribute that power over more cables.
*shrugs* skrewy's money knows best though.
-
He uses superior aussie powered psu's. Strain is nbd.

My bad on the sli, was originally going with 2 6970s but changed my mind after finding out they use 4 psu cables over 2.
The 570's in SLi use 4 PSU cables too...

i wanted 2 6990's but mans said no
