I had gotten this idea after looking at mine which usually hovers at 95 F, until I saw it recently.

There was smoke all over my house from some beans that got wayyyyy over boiled. I had to open all the doors and windows to get rid of the smoke and the house temperature dropped lol. I guess the CPU temp went with it :P
What are you record low or high temps?

For high temps... I've had personal and customer's computers over 80C.

lol, Id say the average comp in a 25C room will have a average temp of about 100F without changing fan speeds.
Did I just mix temperature scales? Yes I did.
Here's my default setup for fans. The 50/60 split, nice for low noise but keeps the comp cool enough.

Mine is usually at around 50ºC.
If I open Photoshop and start painting with it, though, it will go all over the way up to 90ºC.

I hope you're either talking about a new Nvidia graphics card with bad OEM cooling or an old AMD Athlon...

Intel Q6600 @ 3.1ghz at 33c idle 37c load, average, all four cores.

:( I resign from lowest temp. An upgrade has left me with stuck sensors, always showing 39C, 31C, 40C, 37C for low/idle temp. I've seen like 26C in the bios but that's probably WAY off and after a cold boot.

Spanky those temps look way too low, even for it being that cold outside.

26F is -3.3333333333333335C
That weather widget updates every hour. It's possible it was actually colder (it usually is colder than it says) but also I had the fan on high so count in an artificial wind chill. Not to mention that the laptop was sitting on the hood of our car (metal). Also, CPU temps aren't 100% accurate, they're just a general guide for the thermal shutdown.

I wasn't saying you were faking anything. I just thought that those temperature readings looked a little too low. Maybe they are accurate though, who knows?

A modern CPU idling at 1GHz with 17C temps? I don't see anything wrong.

Right, but it never goes above 40C while under full load running at 3.82GHz. That seems much too low, unless it's right, which would be great.

Full load of what? If that's Linpack then I'd shit bricks but if that's folding or Prime95... eh, seems kinda average if you have good cooling. With that said, I know approximately jack shit about AMD cpu's other than a couple things about the one in my server...
