Most of you already know these exist but I was bored and if no one knows, now they do. I am going to get a 5770 when I get the money, which probably isn't going to be soon.

Somebody read my Moderator thread :D

I didn't know about these honestly. Personally, I'm a Nvidia guy and have no desire to have the latest and greatest. It's nice sure but it also comes with a pricetag. Nvidia's stream processors are much more efficient which explains why ATi needs well over 5x the number of them just to compete with Nvidia. I also like CUDA and PHYSX, I just wish they were implemented more... I'm sure ATi cards do great, although I've never owned a decent one and probably never will.

Hardware usually comes out before applications can use it. This is a great reason to hang back a generation or two. There are a couple DX11 games out but I have heard bad reviews about DiRT 2. More DX11 games will come with using even more of DX11 features.

Anyway, nice informative post. Good collection of quick-view information.

I've actually wanted to post about this for awhile now; I just never had the time to.

I hate when they have race wars on who can release the latest and greatest features first. That ultimately leads to bad craftsmanship.

Another reason to hang back a couple generations. Revisions pwn.

Iunno, last time I got a Donkey Kong Country catridge, they fixed a bug where you can mask the A button at the start of the game and get warped about 85% through the game. That revision was definitely not pwn.

That is true. Same happened with the Xbox 360. They rushed the release and half of the systems were faulty. But I have heard nothing but good reviews for these cards. But when Nvidia comes out with it 300 series, they will probably be very expensive. I hope they make a cheaper DX11 card (in the $200 range) because I prefer Nvidia cards over ATI.  ATI has an advantage because they are making DX11 cards that people can afford.

Nvidia is predictable. They release high-end cards at it's first cycle, then as holidays approach they release the mid-end cards. Then they release the low-end cards at about Spring.

Now we play the waiting game =D

Oh for sure they'll have the GT300 series as well as the GTX300. However, I think it's in the best interest of people to save up a pinch of money and get one of the higher-end cards. It will last you a lot longer, even through to the next version of DirectX.
