EVGA GTX 275
« on: Wednesday, February 29, 2012, 00:39:42 AM »
I'll probably be selling my GPU, going to see if anyone here wants it. I would probably ask around $100 but I would have to take a look and see what they're actually going for. Mine's one of the better ones, I have it running at 720MHz core, a lot of people have problems going above 700MHz. It's a great card but I need the money. Anybody interested?

Of course Skrewy, that's why I can't even play BF3 on low settings with more than 40 FPS.

Bang for bucks these are cheap and still a top rated card and no game I've tried slows it down.

That's why when I upgraded last that was the only hw I kept.

BFBC2 slows it down, I can't play on full settings at 1680x1050, very close though. BF3 is just fail, even on low settings I still get 40FPS, ultra can dip down to 20FPS. It's a great card, I just need something a little more and would rather have the money now than to sell it several months from now.

I didnt have problems on BFBC2 havent played BF3.  Mines also a XFX 275 GTX so may be slightly different or could be your other specs holding it back a bit.

Look here to compare

What resolution do you play at? You play with full settings? Including Anti-Aliasing? I do play BC2 fine but FPS will drop below 60 sometimes and I'm not on the highest possible settings, just slightly below.

In my experience anything above 40-50 fps is usually fine.  Its like TV, most people cant tell the frame rate has dropped even at 18fps and not until 12.5 fps.   But Computer Games are a little different and it is usually noticeable at under 30fps.

Also only having a 24" monitor I probably wasn't using 1680 x 1050 because it would be almost impossible to see the difference if you go down a resolution or 2.  probably 1280 x 1024 or ws equivalent.  I don't play BC2 anymore.  I play MV2/MW3 on occasions.  Still like AA too much.

At 24" it's probably 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. Either way, not playing at your native resolution is horrible, worse than playing without Anti-Aliasing. I mean, 1 pixel has to be stretched in uneven increments, so the image gets all distorted. I can tell under 40FPS, but 50-60 is no real difference. Usually FPS is great on BC2 but there's some explosions and scenarios where it will dip down to 30 or so. Still a great card compared to a lot of the ones out there, especially with the overclocks I have but I gotta move on.
