Title: DIY Audio Cables
Post by: Spanky on Monday, March 29, 2010, 21:47:33 PM
I've been dabbling about in DIY cables since I have basic soldering skills and it's quite fun. You can get a pretty nice cable for an even nicer price.

My latest creation: (about $10 in parts)

Digital coaxial cable: (using spare RG-6 DirecTV coaxial cable)

If anyone ever needs any, hit me up. The cables I make are not only good quality but sturdy as well.

I was going to but... I didn't. It gets complicated enough to have to open the plug packages, organize the parts, strip the main insulation, strip the shielding, strip the individual wires, tin them, tin the connectors, gather heatshrink and triple check to put it on the cable in the right order with the covers and then put it all together. Maybe next time I will... I was planning on buying some of those KSC-75 headphones and recabling them but moneys ran short for now.
