Holiday spirit and all that aside. The winter, snowy aka the.snow.is.so.bad.it.makes.me.all.dizzy.
Does anyone actually like it? When holidays are coming, you get time to play and you are stuck with that. Didn't find a winter ic thread.

Its only for couple weeks and its going to be removed. You can't blame devs for trying spirit some of the winter happiness. :)
Is it the sound that matters to you? :)

It's not just you, it's the community that has to play with it... So... Just hang in there, it's only for a couple of weeks.

I'm not sure why the snow would make you dizzy. That seems odd.
However, the overall reception of the 2 Holiday maps (IC and Hospital) has been overwhelmingly positive so suck it up. People like them.

i havent tried insurgent camp yet, but i plan on doing so tonight for fight night. eager to see what has been done :)

If it makes you dizzy, you probably have some kind of medical condition and shouldn't play video games. What about the flashes from guns or smoke from grenades?

thats a serious point. My wife is very epileptic and still plays (even though she shouldnt) and has only had a spell (even with medication) maybe 3 times. Do u happen to get like Uncontrollable muscle movements especially eye twitches when u play? If so u may want to see a doctor to determine if u may have some kind of condition which is effected by Video Games (flashing lights and stuff of that nature)

I ain't crying, im putting on a thread where people can have their say. Not everything negative is a personal attack to the assist team, I love their work but just not this map. Quit gobbling.

Just fix your resolution settings and get on and play! Or... There are different maps to play for a while :D

Ares, we do appreciate all feedback, seriously. Our goals in this was just to give something unique that was only temporary. A little seasonal fun. It wasn't highly tested or highly refined, just a quick edit. It will go back to normal when the AA3 maps and new Assist get released. I'm sorry that you don't like the map, hopefully you'll continue to play other ones until it's reverted.

Did your Assist client download the new map at startup?
Try another server.

Yea it downloaded it for like 2 days ago...i tried 1 other server also but same message. Actually it says Downloading "SFhospital" map not allowed. Connection failed.

When you get that message it only means the version of the file SFHopital.aao in this case is not the same on your client as on the server, it says nothing about who has the right file.
Can you find the location of the maps on your client?
The correct size of the file is:
25 735 853 Bytes

I didn't tried the xmas maps too, since I took out my vga I've only played cs 1.6 with bots for a few :D
it sucks, cuz I can't play "anything" that I'd like to.

I have to say that SF Hospital xmas version was really nice - really nice atmosphere. Too bad I don't have the chance to play these xmas versions more...

To be honest I do as well. Considering most posts here on the forums are just complaints about something, this seems like a great way for the admins to get some motivation! :)

The thing is that the map-edits don't change the gameplay too much. On insurgent camp, it's confusing to hear 'snow-footsteps' when someone is on the roof, and on hospital sometimes you have to jump or prone at some points but the fans can just keep their playing-habbit, that's why I think there are few complaints and much positive feedback! :up:
