Before we start a discussion whether or not it would be possible....
Lets first find out if a majority of people would prefer a side swap.

I voted yes. Would be original. Def people will see what it is on asault and assault xampers will finally be allowed to camp on def, so I think it could be cool.

I voted no. No point in fixing what isn't broken. AA has always been this way, and I think we shouldn't change what AA is.

Well if we're talking about a mod I don't see the point of a poll.

If it would be a mod, it's a yes and if it would be a forced feature then it's a no. Why is it 6 rounds? The number of rounds should be something that we can change any time. I think these votes should be more clear just to make it more easy to vote. If there are any open questions, ppl won't vote that easy.
I don't vote anything in this point, but at least you know what I think.

The way i see it this is not about repairing something that isnt broken. Imho this is about an optional feature, not something that is mandatory. Not all changes make a game better (look at AA 3 and know what i mean), but some might add something extra to the experience.
I did mention 6 rounds pure as an example. Ofcourse every server admin is free to set the total amount of rounds to his own needs.
Also the vote says ''option''. In dutch that means that you are free to choose. Youre not obligated to use it. So to be clear, again, im talking about a mod.

As an option, hell yeah. Its something I really miss from AA2, it would make the game more diverse, and I hate the 3 min rounds on assault/defense maps, its really unfair, and what a coincidence the admins are always on defense. :D

I think it's a totally reasonable thing to ask. Unless you used to play on the same side of the same map for ages, which honestly i can't describe as anything else than deathly boring.

Well the majority of people here seem to like the idea.
Is it technically possible to build such kinda mod?

Of course it's possible, it just takes someone knowledgeable in UScript :) All you need to do is grab the id's of all the players, randomize the order then split them in half. One half goes to Assault, the other goes to Defense.
As far as swapping sides, that should be even easier. I don't know enough to do it though.

If someone is willing to make it, I will use it, if not whateva...
It's good on some point and bad on the other...
It's good because there are maps that someone has advantage over the other team, and if at half of the rounds it would switch, it could become a way to equilibrating more the teams.
On the other hand, there's lot's of newbies that just like to camp on defense, and it could change and they will probably not even realize they have changed to assault...

As for Guily not really liking it... well, it doesn't make pretty white floating lights or class SF guns so why would you want it?

it has to be mandatory! 6 rounds matches 3on ambush 3 on contra ambush.

Isn't it just placing player/controller id's into an array, then using a function for placing players on teams based on the array info?
I wouldn't know how the game handles how players spawn on which team, but isn't it just a variable in the player controller set to 0, 1, or 255? Does changing that variable update everything else?

LOL. I didn't quite said I didn't liked it... If someone makes it I will probably use it.
Because let's say somehow blahblahblah the crazy floating lights seem to have a very little slight advantage on one team in comparison to the other (not much important), but oh well, I like making things fair (with or without mods).
And specially with my mods, actually bridge is more fair for everyone, has the objectives are not to go trough the bridge, but killing he other team instead. But the normal bridge is very disadvantage for the assault. So my believe is that if only people of same level skill are in both teams, the defense will always have a big advantage if they play well and have each guy really defending only a single position.

Damn you'r really working it ;). Have you fix the guns on the "foe mod" (and can you link me to yout thread on this forum plz?)
