the question is the Headline ! thanks for answer :style:
-
Never, not possible.
-
Anyone else find it funny that these questions are coming quite frequently? I mean, people are going out and buying Windows 8 and then wanting to play a 8+ year old free game on it...
-
The sad thing is new pc buys will get windows 8 forced on them even if they don't want it, unless you are in to touch screens windows 8 is a waste of time.
-
....whens the new assist update in general come out?

Next Assist(in a week or two) will only include new CVARS and other AC measures.
Next Assist update after that(Early Jan) is planned to be mAAP updates.
-
New Cvars for our League guys ;)

I would also wonder why people bother to buy Windows 8. Heck, why they even bother to buy Windows? I wouldn't, unless it comes in a laptop or in an assembled system (which i wouldn't buy either, they're a bunch of cheap junk in a barely acceptable envelope, sold at premium dosh).

Seems like pretty good timing.

Go ask PB to update their version for AA, you won't get a response. It's not worth it to update the client if Windows 8 users won't be able to play anyways because of PB.
There needs to be an announcement or sticky or something explaining why W8 won't be supported so we don't get so many threads on it.

Wish most people were clever enough to use forum search, but they don't...

i had a bad crash with win8 - and all the system recovery methods from win8 look/sounds great, but they do not work at all. all away, nothing worked to rescue it. and restore: even the part "install windows new but keep data" didn't word. all data gone. now restored computer with windows 7 :D

If you have win8 your best bet is to dual boot Ubuntu Linux, this is free, follow these instructions to set up Ubuntu on your win8 PC...

Nothing, ran fine out the gate.
Limited test of the functionallity of PB, just verifed that the CVARS ran as they should.
-
I never tried it, I was just going on the reports of others saying that PB had to be updated...

Same here, it was JonnyM pmed me saying it worked, he was a little vague, so I tested, and when I got Assist to work, I felt it was time to make a public statment.
The Current public version of Assist dont work in win8, but the version I work on does.

Yeah, same here. I feel really stupid now. :P

aa2 support was discontinued, Ive seen that EB removed AA2 from the PB Setup program, some time then I downloaded Pb Setup and AA 2 was there again o.O
anyway good work ELiZ and thnaks JonnyM for forwarding the info >)

At the moment I'm trying to find the best version of the compiler.
The latest has some nasty bugs, disabling stuff like Stats and buddys.
I'm testing 2011 r1.1 and that version looks promising, works in win8+http works as it should.
-
Realbasic is buggy as fuck, you will see lots of work arounds in my code.
-
pretty nice , this is the only thing that kept me from playing AA
release it ASAP!!

You kurac, what is so excellent in Windows 8? :D

i think win8 is really shit!

You think all versions of Windows are shit :) I don't think Windows 8 is shit but I'm plenty happy on 7 and wouldn't go out to buy 8. Windows 8 would have been perfect if Microsoft made an official method to enable/disable Metro. Windows 8 does have some nifty improvements but it's hard to get past Metro.
-
If feels like 2 systems bodged together and settings and functions are spread between them to force you to use both. Its really painful and i wish there was just a start menu, why did they take it away ffs?

I agree 100%. Metro might be ok if the programs used the same settings and whatnot as their desktop counterparts but they don't and that's just moronic. That leaves desktop users absolutely no reason to use Metro...
Thankfully there's programs like Classic Shell but again, it shouldn't have to be a 3rd party workaround.
