So I first started playing in '03, stopped in '06, just came back today and wow I was so excited, until I started playing. Might as well be call of duty or something. All the servers are using the modded weapons and wild rules, the skill is gone.
Why are there no more Mountain Pass, Bridge, Pipeline with the ol' fashioned ironsights/203's/SAWs. I did like the SE versions of these too but today I only found one classic server. are you still forced to suffer through the training these days where you had to go min. 36/40 on the range with a basic m16 to prove your worth???

Training is gone, that might be why there's more people that like modded servers. I think the classic days are gone. Look back at different times of the day, there are some good people that play still. If nothing else, start a server and play how you want, others will join.

Not sure my connection is stable enough for that, but I'll give it a shot tonight/tomorrow. Typically my internet takes a brief 1 min pause every 2 hours which would get annoying for the players I'm sure. But I sure do miss rushing center peak on mountain pass after dodging 203/saw spam. call me crazy!

Do like most others do, use a game server provider there are a few that support this game.

I see one I like, I'll sit in there a while see if anyone joins me in bringing back the good ol' days. It's [SWISS]PowerServer5 - (normal, open slots, honor, tracked) mountain pass, time limit is a little too short, but its best available...let's play

I know at least 1 guy who would love to play MP with you ([SWISS]Merlin, hence the [SWISS] server on MP, too :) ), but I'm afraid he's from Switzerland and therefore your playing times will not match too often (plus the server is Swiss as well so your ping will be... not as good as his).

But please don't leave the game so fast again.Give it a chance. It oftentimes depend on the day or the amount of players online which servers are crowded an which are not.

Almost ten years has passed since you started mate :) . Wouldn't even be fair for it to be the same, but i get what you mean, it's harder to find classic missions. Trainings aren't needed anymore but I think they were useful to some point though (i'd rather see new players starting with them before anything else).

Fantastic. I was in there for a bit this morning but the servers keep going down. Once it comes back online let's all play some mountain pass!!!!

I honestly never see any people in shotgun only servers, also who likes shotguns? cmon thats the shittiest weapon of this game.. Most of us prefer normal weapons

It's with shotgun that I had the most epic nights on AA .... With shotgun all the competition goes away and you just play for fun. People that join shotgun servers aren't the same as oldscoolers on the normal servers, who have their ini tweaked to the max

Theres plenty of players who are every day online at Q-Gaming shotgun only server.

I'd appreciate it, if you'd setup your server to normal mode. Best would be if it's not Bridge Crossing, SF Hospital, Urban Assault or Weapons Cache. Something like Border (Vanoke will maybe setup a normal server next year), SF Courtyard, SF Recon or SF Arctic would be cool. Oh well, or Bridge SE, or Mountain Pass would be cool, too. We lack a bit of good servers which offer a map variant despite of those servers which are online every evening.

dunno would be good idea to host "Official Servers" at least few of them per contingent, like in history there were US Army Official Honor Server #1..... #n+1 to offer STANDARD issue servers for people to play. I can put one up for Nordic area (Finland) if needed, but i think only ones who really benefit that are we, west russian guys, swedish and norwegian players, oh not to forget estonia :D And i already have one 26slot running, so can turn UA_SE off and put it to some other map if people want ;)

A while back (dunno if it's still being done) there was an Offiical Assist UK server but it was always empty :)

Sounds like a good idea to me.
I've setup a server; Spanky's Classic AAO25.com Server. No mods, it cycles through regular maps excluding Bridge, Hospital, Pipe, Urban, Mout, and Insurgent Camp. It has PB checks but no screenshots (I wouldn't make them public and it would just waste bandwidth). 10-slot for now, 6 minute rounds. Anyone that wants admin, just post here.

Thumbs up!! Currently playing on it with my 2nd acc. Since the server description has just the name 'Classic...' i assume that you can also setup other maps, right? Vanoke will kill me if he hears, that another guy made a classic Border server, because i bugged him since weeks with that issue. Despite of that, he won't setup a classic server before beginning of 2013. On the other hand it's also: first comes, first serves ofc.
So, i want to ask you if it's also possible to setup this server on any other map? But please not a map which is already crowded every day/night. I suggest SF Sandstorm, SF Arctic, SF Recon, Mountain Pass (SE), Woodland Outpost. But it's up to you and also on the community of players prefering. These could be maps more or less popular.

I'm pretty sure Assist does it's own map cycling instead of relying on the built-in AA function.

1- I think that you not always wanne quip an eye on it ,that you need adders to report that the server is not working properly.
If thats all i am not to lazy to look summtimes and mail you.ore make a restart on your Spanky's Classic AAO25.com Server.
2- If there is more i will hear from you and we must make contact i think you can mail me ore els we from =PUF= are gowing after new year in TS from 25 Assist.
and than i hear what to do. I'm curious and looking forwards to it.

Assist uses its own GUI to set the things into the built-in AA function :)

yea, but i cant use assist to launch server(s), because whole game library is built inside tcadmin2. running fifty or more instances is a bit differend than just one ;)

I made a printscreen copy from rules-configuration and tournament so i can examine that settings in future all will stay oke.

and therefor i made 11 Servers, just to have some on other maps as Hospital, Bridge and stuff like that. i am always trying to set them on maps that are not offered in europe. not always with success, but i am trying hard :D
@mozam: there are some players like we are. they love mountain pass too. at least two of them are living in USA (smeeelack_A and Craazy_Biach), also [SWISS]Angel. we are looking every day for some players to join this map, but it is about 19.30 CET. but later, also some are playing. just watch out for :). and you can go to see the pbss at www.swiss-clan-site.enjin.com, maybe you can find out for you, which the best time to play/wait is (Server 5).
