Is it possible to use the Steam overlay with AA 2.5? I want to use my Steam Controller with the game which requires the Steam overlay. I'm just worried whether it will interfere with punkbuster and get me kicked or banned.

IF steam overlay works with games launched from outside steam, yes.
You will have to try it yourself to see how PunkBuster behaves with Steam Overlay.
last time I tried to use a controller, it didn't worked well :D

Well I tried it. I didn't get banned. So, it works!

The game has Joystick support (for Direct Input Controllers I suppose), when IN-GAME, press ESC, click in SETTINGS, click in INPUT, check: "Enable Joystick".
If your are constantly looking to the ground, edit "User.ini" into the game folder, the game must not be running.
Remove (or just empty everything after the "="):
JoyV=
JoySlider1=
Path to "User.ini"
MAC-OSX: /Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/25Assist/
LINUX: /home/USERNAME/25Assist/
WINDOWS XP: C:\Documents and settings\USERNAME\Application Data\25Assist\
WINDOWS VISTA/7: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\25Assist\
You will have to figure the correct JoyX,Y,Z,R,U,V. Also Change the "SpeedBase" values for the Look axis. Higher values moves faster and low values moves slowly (oh rly).
Mines are like this, for a Generic PS2 usb controller:
JoyX=Axis aStrafe SpeedBase=300.0 DeadZone=0.1 << Strafe move to the left /right sides with Left Analog Stick
JoyY=Axis aBaseY SpeedBase=300.0 DeadZone=0.1 Invert=-1 << Move For(re)ward with Left Analog Stick
JoyZ=Axis aBaseX SpeedBase=23.0 DeadZone=0.1 << Look to the left and right with Right Analog Stick
JoyR=
JoyU=
JoyV=Axis aLookUp SpeedBase=12.0 DeadZone=0.1 Invert=-1 << Look Up and Down with Right Analog Stick

Ah, thanks, but I just binded the controller to simulate analog but still use keyboard outputs. I got at least one kill, so that's something.

Punkbuster has no issues with the Steam Overlay, but playing with a gamepad, even if its the steam controller, it's a wild bet of course.

Playing with gamepad is more wierd than playing with aimbot....
